What shocked you most hearing this story? What do you think will be most difficult for the women? If you were kidnapped for 10+ years, what's one of the first things you would do after being set free?

I was shocked to find out that the girls all survived. I think it will be so difficult for the women to readjust to society. So much has happened in ten years. After being set free, I would so go get the newest halo game.

They were missing for 10 years. Re adapting to life. Overdose on hardcore drugs.

It's pretty surprising that all the girls survived. I mean if I was to kidnap someone I would probably kill them off after a while just for this reason. I do love the quote the guy that found the first girl said " I knew something was wrong when a pretty little white girl ran into a black man's arms. Something is wrong here. Dead giveaway."

Amanda saving herself and the other women from this home was the biggest shock (well, not shock, but... (I don't know the word for it)). You would've thought that the police would have a better system of figuring things out in these situations. They should have been closer to finding them. But that is not the case anymore since they are free. The most difficult thing to get through (from this experience) is learning to be mentally stable again and being able to face their kidnapper and possible perpetrator. The first thing that I would do after being set free is cry; cry tears of pain, but also tears of joy for not having to be in such circumstance any longer.

Ten years is such a long time. I wonder why they never got one chance to get out before then. Being away from everything you know for that long would be horrible. The first thing I would do when I was free was take long walk in the fresh air. I would make someone else walk with me.

I was shocked that there were three girls that were kidnapped and kept alive. When you are kidnapped you normally do not live through it and become free again. The most difficult thing for the women will most likely be getting the images and flashbacks of their experience. One of the first things I would do after being kidnapped for over ten years would most likely be to see my family and friends.

I was completely shocked at this whole story. The fact that someone could do this to another human being is completely mind-boggling. They will have to completely re-adapt to the outside world. If I were kidnapped, the first thing I would do after being set free would be to spend time with everyone.

I'm pretty shocked of the girls surviving. Usually in these cases the victims are killed. Adjusting back to life will probably be the most difficult for them since it has been so long. If I was in that predicament I would go pamper myself first thing.

I was most shocked to hear that all three girls were still alive, including one of the girl's six year old daughter. The kidnappers probably had a lot of patience to put up with these women, because I would fight back the whole time. One of the most difficult things for these women is probably going to be readjusting to normal, everyday life. After being in captivity for so long, doing normal things probably will seem scary to them. After being in captivity for so long I would just want to see my family, especially my niece.

I'm surprised that the girls all survived. Normally, if someone has been kidnapped for 10+ years, they get killed after they have outlived their usefulness. The most difficult thing will be to adapt to the outside world again. The very first thing I would do after being set free would be to kill my kidnappers. Violently and painfully.

This is literally my biggest fear. I can not imagine being kidnapped for 10+ years. Last night I watched a special on this story and it is unbelievable the amount of determination and hope the three girls have. If I were in their shoes, I would have the hardest time living my life without fear of the rest of the world. The past 10 years of their lives they lived their life in fear and unfortunately you can not just flip the switch back to a normal life and way of thinking. After being set free, all I would want to do is see my family and friends.

The thing that shocked me most about this story was that they were found miles from where they were kidnapped. Getting used to how the world is today. I would go on a long vacation with my family!

I was shocked to hear that all three women were alive. The most difficult thing for these women would be remembering what happened to them and what they went through for the past ten years or so. If I was kidnapped for ten years or more, the first thing I would do after being set free is I would go see and hug my family and friends.

I am surprised that they are even still alive. I would think since they have been kidnapped that they wouldn't trust anyone for a long time. I don't even know the first thing I would do. I just know that they are very lucky to be alive and they are very strong women.

I can't believe this story! It's a surprise they are even still living. The most difficult thing for these women would probably be the bad memories in their heads. If I was kidnapped for 10+ years, the first thing I would do is get good food!

The fact that the dude they interviewed said " I never would've believed that man had them girls" and then he said "WE COOKED RIBS TOGETHER!" that was the best part of the whole thing. I feel bad for the girls, but there is more to the story than is being put on the news, I believe.

This just goes to show that you should never lose hope. I cannot imagine being held captive for over 10 years. It is definitely one of my biggest fears. The first thing I'd probably do once I was free was take a shower.

What shocked me most is that they were there for 10 years! I think mentally moving forward will be extremely hard for them. If I was freed I would go, find my family and hug the mess out of them.

I think this is really sad. Those girls will probably need therapy. I don't know what I would do

It's amazing that they lived because most people are killed within a short period after being kidnapped. I don't understand why the men keep these girls for so long. If I was kidnapped for 10 years the first thing I would do is eat mac and cheese with my family and friends.

Tyler R said...

The guy had no clue what was going on. if I was kidnapped for over 10 years, I would go get something to eat first.

I can't even imagine how the girls feel after being held inside for ten plus years. I don't know how long I could have gone not seeing day light or smelling fresh air for 10+ years. The thing that shocked me the most was calling Amanda the hero when she saved herself and the others I think they should just be glad they are free. I think the first thing I would do is get my mom to make her homemade bbq.

The girls had been missing for ten years and the neighbors didn't even know. I think adapting back would be the hardest for the girls. After being kidnapped for that long i would just want to be around my family.

That they were still alive after this long time. Trusting men and going out by themselves. See all the people that I haven't seen in forever , just to see them again would be amazing.

What really shocked me was that they were held in captivity so long. The emotional distress will be the most difficult for the women. I would of called 911 to if i was kidnapped for that long.

The thing that shocked me the most is that they were still alive after 10 years.I think the women would have the most trouble with going out again without the fear of being kidnapped. The first thing i would do after being set free would be go see my family.

Its crazy how they all are alive. I think adapting to the outside world would be the the hardest and the bond the 3 girls had to have living together for that long. If I was freed from being kidnapped i'd have a huge family and freind reunion.

Anonymous said...

What shocked me most was how long they were gone. How could no one find any evidence of where they were? It's crazy. But I don't know what i would do first.

It took 10 years to find these women in this house. I think being the most difficult would be be let back out in the world, and catch back up with everyone and the world itself which they have been detached from. After being set free, I would be back with my loved ones, and try to go do something fun and exciting like eat at Olive Garden and go shopping.

I was shocked to hear that one of the girls had a six year old daughter and she had been missing for ten years; meaning that her daughter was probably the outcome of being raped or something. I never even knew who these girls were or that they were even missing until I heard this story. It's so gross that the man that went up to the house to help them, used to grill and hangout with one of the men that held these girls captive for so long. I wonder if they even know about anything that's been going on like who is president, VT shootings (or any of the tragedies that have taken place at a school), the Boston stuff or just anything period. I can't imagine how they felt this entire time and how amazing it must feel to be reunited with everyone you love. I'm just so curious to know what went on inside that house, if they were ever out in public and nobody noticed them, etc.

I think what shocked me the most is that Amanda had and raised a baby for six years that was her kidnapper’s child. I could not imagine trying to raise a child in a situation like this. I think getting back to a normal life would be the hardest. Having to explain to my child what happened and why and how this occurred. The first things I would do is go to my family and friends. Family is one of the most important things to me. My family has been torn apart and ripped away at the seams but even though my family is separate they all mean something to me. That is who I would want to spend my time with first.

It shocked me how long they were gone. If I were kidnapped for 10 years I don't know what I would do.

Everything shocked me when I heard about this. I was very concerned for the Mother of the daughter. Raising a child in that environment is something extremely scary and bazaar. It is so heart breaking to hear about them innocent women and and that child, for them to be shut away from life and their family like that is just something that is so unbearable. Think about being disconnected from the world, from family, from fun activity's that you should be apart of?.. for 10 years?... If I was the Mother of the little girl then the first thing I would do once I was set free is take her immediately to find and meet her grandmother and grandfather. As for the other women, I would seek family and make up for lost time. My prayers are with these women, I do sure hope they seek all the help they can get to get back to the mind state they once had before this tragedy.

I think that them being gone for 10 years then being freed. Learning to trust other people and reintegrating into society. I would most likely go to some place remote with my family
