Does this classroom look anything like a typical classroom at WHS? Explain. What benefits have you experienced this year from having an iPad at school? Have you experienced any drawbacks? Should Isle of Wight County Schools continue the isle 21 initiative? Why or why not?

I thought we were going to have textbooks on the iPad this year but once they decided not to put them on them I feel they have been pretty much useless. A few teachers have used them for classwork but the majority don't. My grades have dropped since getting the iPads I could do work orrrr I could play games, I choose games. IOW is already in too deep to turn back now.
It doesn't look like a classroom in WHS. I think have have been useless. I was hoping to have textbooks up there. My grades have dropped. I think they should but they need to step it up.
That classroom didn't look anything like ours here at WHS. I don't think iPads are useful all we use them for is to play games, get on twitter, snapchat, and surf the internet. There are some teachers that actually use them in a lesson but theres really not to much to do on the education wise. If hey continue the Isle 21 initiative every students grades will eventually drop.
The ipads are pretty much useless. They don't have our books on them. We aren't even allowed to use them for anything else without getting called out. Even if it is for school. I just hear teachers complain constantly about them and of course I can't just ask the teacher to stop talking. They are to far in to stop now.
This classroom looks way better than one at WHS. People actually get to use their iPads for something other than playing because they finished their work. To be honest, I have benefited a bit this year from the iPad I received. Because of the iPad I received, in my English class, I can read books as fast or as slow as I want instead of having to wait for the rest of the class. And I like the idea behind them. It should continue.
Our classrooms do not look like that at all. Teachers are trying to make us do more classwork on the ipads. I hate the iPads. I rather have everything on paper and in front of me. I usually get distracted with the iPad. Unless we acting get our textbook on the iPads or have stuff that will help us in our classes then I think IWCS should get rid of the iPads.
It looks like a few classrooms here at WHS. Some teachers embrace the benefits of the iPads more than others. My iPad has come in handy a few times in certain cases throughout this school year. However, having the iPad at my finger tips allows me to get distracted easily by Twitter and other things on the internet. I don't see the school board taking the iPads away. They're too far into this endeavor to call it quits now.

The classroom is similar to one here. There are really no benefits that I have seen that make me want to keep the iPad. It really just causes me a lot of stress. Teachers pile you on with work and expect you to check your email everyday. I personally do not think that IWCS should keep the isle 21 program anymore. The iPads are a distraction and cause nothing but trouble.
This looked like no classroom at WHS. I haven't really benefited anything out of having the iPad. If anything it made my grades worse. I think IWCS would be better without them!
I am addicted to the device... So much that I got a tablet of my own (but not an apple product, I do not like apple products). It hasn't necessarily helped me tremendously this year, because I still like the, now "old-fashioned", pencil to paper. I have been taught through paper and pencil and am used to that and prefer it over the electronic style. It's easier to manipulate, and it won't crash like a computer's hard drive has the potential to. This world is becoming more and more tech-savvy, even in the workforce. I think that it is a good idea to continue the use of the iPads. It would be an even better idea to start with the younger children. Rules, guidelines, and boundaries need to be set though. There is such a thing as too much technology use. Outside communication is failing as well (within the world because of use of technology), but times...they are a changin'.
When IOW gave us the iPads they were supposed to have textbooks on them. Since they don't, they are pretty much useless. Some teachers try to use them, but they are too much of a hassle. I'd rather go back to just pen and paper, unless we got electronic textbooks. Most students here at WHS play games or get on social media, so it seems like everyone's grades have dropped.
This is nothing like a classroom at WHS. We do not use our iPad the right way. I get more distracted when I have the iPad. Most kids think that its just a play toy, rather than a helpful tool. Most kids grades are dropping and this is not helping. They cant even trust the kids with the iPad so why would you even give it to them in the first place.
This classroom looks nothing like a classroom at WHS. They were using their iPads to do work. We rarely use our iPads for work. The only benefits I've received are the fact that I can take pictures of notes instead of writing them down. Other than that, they are useless. If they can't find any important uses for them, it should stop.
My IPad helps me with keeping up with my school work. I use my IPad in almost every class this semester. I think it is pointless that some teachers don't take advantage of the IPads. My grades have not been affected by the IPads, but I can understand if some peoples grades have dropped. It is easy to get distracted with an IPad right in front of you.
There class rooms look nothing like WHS. I rarely see someone using there Ipad for school reasons.Having the Ipads do make work easier because you don't have to use the text book as much. I haven't experienced any draw backs. The school should continue to use the Ipads.

This classroom doesn't look like a typical classroom at WHS. Even though every student at WHS owns an iPad, the teachers do not use them like the teacher in the video. Before the iPads were intiated, everyone was told they were to download textbooks. The iPads have just turned into a big play toy to satisfy the students. If we actually download textbooks then I would see the purpose of having them. It doesn't matter what we say anyway because the county is going to do what they want to.
This reporter is stupid. She doesn't need to report. I don't like this video because I'm sick of hearing about ipads. Yeah they're nice and all, but we've had them for a whole year now, I wish they would hurry up and become old news.
Our classroom does not look like that one. I haven't experienced many benefits from iPad at all. Yes battery dead no internet connection. I don't care if they continue or not.
I think that the school board went about giving us the iPads wrong. They could have introduced them so much better. The same note taker app should have been downloaded on each iPad. Honestly, i think iPads were a mistake.
I doesn't look like a classroom at WHS. Because kids play games on the ipad not work.Teacher let them use them sometimes in class but not really.

I don't really know. I have not really experienced any draw backs except for grades slipping. I guess they should continue it.
No, I only see people playing games on them and listening to music.I haven't really had any benefits from having an Ipad, i've only used it in like 1 class for actual work. It wouldnt matter to me if they kept them or not.
Ipads have been out for a long time now, she doesn't know what she is talking about to me. No it doesn't look like a normal classroom. Some experienced I've encounter was quicker access to answers for work we needed to do, etc. If they do they do, If not oh well.
This classroom didn't look like a typical classroom but a lot of classes look different. I like having our iPads but I think that the students here would have liked them if teachers had more experience in interpreting them with classes. I think when they gave us our iPads that they made a huge mistake with not putting our textbooks on there. I think that they should be monitored more because a lot of the students misuse them when they should be more worried about there education and not what is going on on twitter or Facebook. I think they should continue them but I think that they need to put the textbooks on them and then give them back out. I also think that we should have the option as seniors to buy our iPads at the end of the year.
This doesn't look like an average classroom and that is because when we come to school we have to put them away. I haven't really benefited at all from the Ipads. As soon as we got them my grades started to drop. I feel if they put textbooks and more education stuff on the Ipads then yes it will be useful. I would like it a lot if they did that too then I wouldn't have to carry those big textbooks.
This class doesnt look like a typical classroom. The only thing I do on my iPad school wise is doing vocabulary, and some of the teachers lock them up so we cant use them. I like iPads but not school related things. I dont think they should keep going with the iPads.
It looks like Windsor, because of the paper and pencil with the Ipad, but in a way it doesn't due to the teacher also using her computer and technology to teach. She doesn't just use a whiteboard. Having my Ipad made it easy to take photos of notes, but it also made it harder because while I was writing the notes I would remember and retain the information I was writing. I never really look back at the photos and learn the information now. I also can search many things on the Ipad, or look up projects to do for art. It's hard to say whether it benefits or hurts us more, if we get textbooks on them yes we should continue, but if it will continue to just put us in debt I say no.

This class isn't like any other classroom. I get to type some of my notes up on the Ipad. I think they should continue the isle 21 intiative.
I feel like some people use their iPads wisely, while others use them poorly. A lot of teachers are constantly taking away iPads because students are so preoccupied on them, that they can't pay attention and they fail to get their work completed. I haven't experienced many benefits, except the internet is right there instead of having to use my phone. For instance, I can stay up on my power school better. But I rather use a laptop or write my notes, because I don't like when EVERYTHING is touch. Plus, you can't even type legit papers on the iPads. Outside of school, I don't even pick up my iPad. I think so many people have just abused this system and I haven't heard many people at all say that it's useful. Sometimes it's even just a hassle. I could care less what they do with them next year though!
this does look like one of our classroom. I have been able to do much school work with the ipad. No. they should continue to use the ipads.
I don't think this looks too much like the classrooms at Windsor. Maybe some classes here look like that but it depends on who's running the class. A majority of students here go through a hole class block without even doing a single bit of work. They tell the teacher that they are doing the assignment an easier and faster way, when really the students are just playing apps. In my opinion I do find the Ipad very useful. I multitasks all the time, I can do key terms on one note app while searching information for another class. I get work done in half the time, I believe that some apps for certain subjects have very helpful study tools which become very handy for high school attenders who use them properly. I haven't had any drawbacks but I have certainly got irritated by the students who do nothing but play on them, It has made class rooms more difficult to concentrate in due to access noise. At times I do feel that we would be better off going back to basics; Paperrrr and pencilss yayyy(:

No, because we don't use I Pads in every class. I was able to put a lot of music and school work on my I Pad. Yes, they can sometimes be a distraction. Yes, because the students can become more familiar with technology. The world is very technologically savvy so why not?
