Have you noticed that commercials are louder than the television program? What do you normally do when commercials come on (hit mute, change the channel, turn the volume down, or do you just DVR everything)? Do you think it's effective advertisement to increase the level of volume? Why or why not?

I do notice on certain tv channels that the commercials are a lot louder because they want to get your attention. I normally will change the channel during commercials unless I really like the show I am watching. I do think it can be effective depending on the commercial. I think the companys have to target market who they are selling to based on the tv channel its on.

I have been noticing that commercials are louder than the tv show. But I never really cared that much. When any commercial comes on I usually go get something to eat or drink. But when I do see them I just put the tv on mute. It really wouldn't matter because most people don't pay attention to it.

I have always noticed how much louder commercials come in following television programs. When commercials first come on I will usually just change the channel to something that is not playing a commercial. My grandparents listen to their television programs extremely loud, once a commercial comes on they automatically mute the TV. In my opinion I think it depends on the channel and weather if people are interested in certain advertisements relating to shows on that channel

Those kinds of commecials piss me off or scare the hell out of me. When the come on i usually turn the sound off or change the channel. Its actually anti productive, considering that the effect is destroying their chances. But then again youll always remember it as "That friggin commercial. So i guess theres that.

I've noticed that some commercials are a lot louder than the television program. I usually surf through the channels when the commercials come on. Sometimes I get up and do something else while I wait for the program to come back on. I don't usually pay much attention to the commercials. I don't think it is effective advertisement to increase the level of volume because some people get irritated and just turn it off.

I never really noticed it. I normally just change the channel or watch the advertisement. Yeah its effective to increase the volume. To make sure that people hear their commercial.
