Was the fun or excitement of "the prank" worth it? How should the boys be punished for what they did? Marion Hedges is filing a lawsuit against Target for improper security. Do you agree that she should sue? Why or why not? Have you or someone you know of ever pulled a prank that wasn't so funny in the end? Explain.

Pranks are stupid I don't get what people get out of them. The boys almost killed this woman, they deserve to be punished in a way equal to that. I don't agree that Marion should sue the store I think she should sue the boys. I know people that have pulled pranks but none that almost killed people. I will never pull any pranks because once again I don't get the enjoyment people get out of them.

I guess the two teenagers thought it was worth it. The boys need to be punished for a long time like working in the jail house. Yes, I agree that she should sue. Why, because they should had saw the two boys pushing the cart out the store and right then they should had went and got it. No, I never pull a prank that wasn't so funny in the end.

Honestly,. It was really messed up of them to do something like this. But seeing a shopping cart go flying and hit a random person was just a little bit funny. And her suing target is really ridiculous. She does not have a case, unless she said that they should have had a guard around the bridge. And even then you could never expected some kids to throw a cart off of it.
Wow what a crazy story! I feel so sorry for this woman she got so messed up just bye stupid boys having fun and throwing a cart over the side. I don’t think she should sew Target because they didn’t do anything to her, yes there wasn’t security there at that moment but its not like they know where the crimes going to happen. I haven’t pulled a prank on anybody because stuff like this happens but I don’t think these kids were purposely trying to hurt anybody. I don’t understand the fun in throwing a cart over the edge but kids are kids and they do a lot of wrong doing.
This wasn't to funny to me. I don't think throwing a shopping cart over the side of a parking garage is a good prank because someone did actually get hurt. With that being said I really don't understand why this lady filing a lawsuit against target. It isn't Target's fault that kids were running around acting foolish. I disagree with her decision completely. I do feel bad for her being hurt but I think she is taking it out on the wrong person.

The "fun" of the prank was difinetely not worth the consequences. The boys should probably go to a behavior correction center to learn that it is NOT ok to throw shopping carts off of parking garages. I don't really think that it is Target's fault, because they can't have security guards everywhere protecting every customer. The fault lies completely with the boys, it just happened to take place at a Target. The only pranks I can think of are thing that friends have done dealing with open foods and cars, but they were, and are, pretty funny.
It was definitely not worth all that just to do a prank. They should serve some jail time for what they did. Yes, she has every right to sue them. Yes, we have pulled a few that weren't funny afterwards like one time we sat in the woods with paintball guns and when my friend came around on the dirtbike we just opened up on him and he ended up crashing and breaking his growth plate in his left arm.
I don't think that the excitement of the prank was worth it after having caused somebody pain & serious bodily injury. I don't exactly know how the boys should be punished but it should be somewhat stern in my opinion. I don't exactly know about her lawsuit and how proper it is. I feel really bad about what she had to go through especially with the permanent injuries she suffered. The boy's prank was stupid in my opinion and had no significance.

I don't think the fun and excitement was worth it. They also need to be punished for what they did to that lady. I don't think she should sue the security instead sue the boys for what they did. Because he wasn't just standing there watching it happen. I don't pull pranks because I personally think that is childish.

No I do not think the fun or excitement of "the prank" was worth it.I think the boys should be punished for what they did by not be able to go to any mall and their parents should pay that lady's medical bills.Yes I agree that she should sue, because if they would have had security walking around, it wouldn't have happened. No me or anyone else I know have ever pulled a prank that really wasn't so funny.
The prank was definitely not worth it. It was straight up stupid and they deserve to be punished for what they did. I don't agree with the lawsuit against Target because it wasn't their fault that two kids came in with a dumb idea. Last year when me and my sister went to Smithfield, she had this teacher that she really didn't like. That teacher hated the smell of sharpies and would always freak out if someone was using one. So she taped one of those really thick sharpie markers under neath the teacher's desk with the cap off. She was just joking around but after 2 days of the smell people told on her. The teacher wanted to press charges of assault and my sister got suspended. It was kinda stupid but I thought it was sort of funny.
No, because the kids are going to jail and they no that they're in some big-time trouble. The boys should get punished by going to a nursing home and help people, not throw carts at them. They should also do some community service. No, because you can't expect someone to stay on duty for so long and stop people. I don't know. No, because there is always consequences for it.
no it wasnt worth her loosing her eye sight. get shopping carts dropped on them.
The fun of the prank wasn't worth it. I don't know how they should be punished. I think she should do whatever she thinks is right. I don't know anyone who has pulled a prank like that.
No I don't believe it was worth it at all? I think they are being punished the proper way for how they behaved. Yes, every other mall has loads of security walking around all day trying to bother people who are innocent why didn't they catch these teens who weren't so innocent! Yes because it ended up accidently hurting that person in the end.
Heck NO! I'd beat the s*** out of them kids. Why would you do that when there's alot of people down there. That boy won't sorry. If he was sorry then why would he of done it in the first place. That's rediculous.

That prank is not worth it at all, that's not even funny. I don't know a good punishment that would make them see how serious this is, maybe a day in jail will get their mind right. I don't agree that she should sue the Target, I mean its not their fault the kids were there but they did get it on tape and if they had someone out there if they really wanted to do it they would've anyways. I have never known someone to do a prank that serious in the end.
I don't think that the excitement of this prank could be worth it at all. Now these boys are in trouble for what they had done and must face the feeling of damaging another human being's life. There are plenty of other things that these boys could have done to have fun. I hope they didn't intentionally drop it on the woman. I hope they didn't know anyone was down there and were just doing it to be funny.
the comment with no name is mine :) teheh sorry
No the fun or excitement was not worth it. The boys should be put in prison. I agree that she should sue because they basically attempted murder. She could have died and they didn't even know Marion. I haven't even pulled a bad prank or know someone who did. Its all fun and games till somebody gets hurt!
That was messed up. The shopping center is a bit responsible. They should've been there to stop the kids before the shopping cart fell.

The fun or excitement of "the prank" was not worth it. I think the boys should be punished for what they done. Because they could have ended that lady life. I think she shouldn't sue the Target but sue the boys. Yes, some of my friends and I pulled a prank on someone before, but it wasn't nothing that can cause a lawsuit.
I do not think that pranks are cool, because people can get hurt mentally and physically. The boys deserve what they got but they deserve more than what they got because they acted very immature and they didn't think about if that was there parents. My question though is, where the parents when there children were acting out. I think that she should sue, I know I would because there should have been security all around Target making sure that no one was doing anything inappropriate. I have never known someone to act out in an inappropriate manner as this.
That's a pretty harsh prank. Pranks are okay, however they shouldn't be done if it can do harm or damage to anyone else. She should certainly sue them for doing this. However I do not think that the shopping center should be sued. -Josh Cutchins
To me some pranks are funny and some are not . Some kids should think about the pranks before they do it . The joke really could kill them . Personally i would never do anything like that to anyone .
No, a prank is to make you laugh, but the victim of the prank hates it. Yes the boys should be punished. Yes, for no security on the top floors. No, no one i know never been a victim of a prank.
-Travis Legate
No, the fun of this prank was not worth it! This is so bad. These kids were trying to be funny, but they injured somebody. I think they should get some kind of punishment. I think she should sue the children! The store didn't do anything. The kids are the one who did it! I think she should make them pay for her hospital bills and medicine and everything else. That should be their punishment and something else. They should feel really bad.
What's fun or exciting about throwing shopping carts on people, that's not worth anything especially physically hurting someone. Maybe the boys should have something thrown at them, but they should probably like work off the cost of her medical problems. I think she shouldn't sue ,but make them pay her medical bills, and a few other things. I sort of remember of few people who did things like that ,but I can't remember what happened.
No not at all, these kids probably didn't realize how serious what they were doing really was until it was already too late. No she should not sue the Target because it's not their fault that the teenagers were being stupid. You can't expect the security to stop everything from happening! ZACH CAHALAN
The fun or excitement of "the prank" was not worth this poor ladies sight. The boys need to be sent to a rehabilitation center or boot camp. I agree that she should sue Target because A. no one was watching the security cameras. B. if some one was they didn’t do anything. I have pulled a lot of little pranks but nothing that could possibly injure or kill someone.
That prank was just ridiculous! I can't even begin to believe that someone would want to hurt someone that badly for a prank. It just astounds me to no end.
Personally, I don't think that the prank was "worth" the fun or excitement that they must have gotten from hurting that innocent woman.
Yes! Those boys need to be punished for what they did! One of them may have apologized, but the other seems to not have cared. Either way, they need to be punished. If they don't, they will think that pranks that harm people enough to put them in the hospital are okay.
Even though there was at least one person who saw the prank and attempted to stop them. It's sad that they caught it on camera and they have yet to improve their security. So I do believe that she should sue them. That way the store becomes more aware of blind spots like that. If there's no camera, then there should be a guard nearby.
I don't know anyone who has pulled a prank that actually went wrong before. None of the pranks my friends pull would hurt anyone. Which is a very good thing. The last thing we need is someone going to the hospital over something so stupid.
No not if someone could have died and the boys could have been charged with murder. They should be put in the hands of the law and be charged for there actions. Yes I do her life was at risk in that day because she did not deserve that. No.
