What impressed you most about the mother's story and why? How well do you think you respond or would respond in an emergency situation? What type of natural disaster scares you most and why? Have you ever been a victim of a major natural disaster? If so, explain.

She must not have lived her purpose just yet cause it's a miracle she's still alive. That just shows a mother's unconditional love for her child. I have never really been in a situation like this but I think my mind would react to it and I probably would have done the same if it was me and my family. Tornado's and hurricanes are the worst, I just don't like storms period. I have never had to encounter a natural disaster. -Morgan Dee
Danielle....
What impressed me most about the mother's story her losing part of her leg and foot. That impressed me because she risked her life to save her kids.I think I would respond in an emergency situation like this the same way she did.I say the same way because I know I would have the same amount of love for my kids as she did for her's.The type of natural disaster that scares me the most is a tornado, because they are really dangerous. No i have never really been a victim of a major natural disaster.
The fact that someone can be so selfless to risk there life for someone else. There are people that would not risk there life for anyone. You never really know how you will react in a serious emergency. But its when something has gone wrong that you will see how you react in a serious situation. A fire scares me more than any other natural disaster.
When she covered both of her children during the storm. Why because the children didnt have not one scratch on them. I think I will be surprised and scared in an emergency situation. Tornados, flood, earthquake, etc. Honestly all of these can kill you. But a earthquake scares me the most. Why because during a earthquake the ground start to shake and the ground starts to rip open. No I havn't been a victim of a major natural disaster.

I'm very impressed with this mother. She literally put herself in front of danger to protect her children from harm. I would like to think I would respond well during a natural disaster, but you know never know I might freeze up or I might do something stupid. A natural disaster I would hate to face would be a volcanic eruption. The molten lava, scorching ash clouds, and all the stuff involved with a volcano freak me out.

What most impressed me about the mother's story is her heroism and quick thinking. I think I respond a little well to emergency situations. The type of natural disasters that scare me the most are tornadoes. Tornadoes scare me the most because they tear up any and everything. The strongest buildings can be reduced down to shambles in an instant by a tornado. Thankfully I have never been a victim of a natural disaster.

Her mothers love for her children and how she held on until the end, even when it felt like her legs were gone impressed me the most! I would do the same for my family and react very quickly. Torandos scare me the most because they sound like a train and could just pull up! I am glad I have never been in a major natural disater in my life!
The fact that she was willing to do that for her kids is very impressive. I would respond very well in emergency situations because I'm trained to do so because I'm a lifeguard. An earthquake is what I'm scared of the most cause I've been in a real bad one and it's crazy, you also have no warning of an earthquake it just happens. I've never gotten hurt because of a natural disaster but I've experienced plenty of hurricanes and an earthquake

I was extremely impressed that the mother's instinct was to protect her children at all costs, because she obviously put her own life in danger to save her kids. I don't respond to emergencies well, and although the ones I've been around aren't very serious, I still panic a little. A Tsunami scares me the most, because I have an immense fear of drowning. I've never been the victim of a natural disaster, but, by living in Norfolk, I was involved in a lot of Hurricanes. The most we ever had was a loss of power, but houses were constantly destroyed all around us.
The mother didn't even seem mad that she lost part of her leg and foot, she was just thankful that her kids are still alive. I would think that I would be good in an emergency situation. I know it would be stressful but the pressure would probably help me to act quickly. Probably a tornado scares me the most, because they are so strong and can blow through houses. I haven't ever been a victim of a major disaster and I hope I will never experience that.
What impressed me was that the mom almost gave up her life for her two kids. If I was in this situation, I wouldn't know what to do. I think I would having a panic-attack. The number one natural disaster that scares me the most is a fire. I hate the heat, and I can't stand the idea of burns. IT FREAKS ME OUT!!!! I have been a victim of a hurricane when I was little. I can't remember which hurricane, but we didn't have power for a long time. We didn't have furniture in the house, because we were moving to a different house. On top of that, we had guest over! But that was a while back.
It impressed me how much she understood what happen to her was for the best and it was only a mother's love for a child. I think i would've responded n the same matter if I had children and the same if I was alone. The only natural disaster that scares me the most is a flood because I do not know how to swim and I always picture animals in the water. No I have never been in a major natural disaster I was my family went through one when I was a baby but I don't really know what happen.
I think this mother really did what she was supposed to do. It sucks that she lost body parts but three lives are more important than a leg. I don’t think people should live in tornado valley because that sets your self up for problems. People build beautiful houses for them to get tore down every year that’s depressing. If people want to live out there they need to build tornado proof houses because if I was their insurance I surly wouldn’t pay to rebuild in the same location over and over again. I think tornados are my biggest fear because I used to have nightmares about them after I saw 3 in Wyoming.
What impressed me the most was how she saved her kids life. She put her own life in danger to save her kids and that's amazing. I don't respond well to emergency situations. Tornado's and storms scare me the most. I just don't like them period. I've been a victim of that hurricane Isabella we had. It was definitely scary and we had to come up to the high school because it got so bad.
This story does impress me mainly because of the mothers courage and bravery. In a situation like that i think adrenaline and instinct starts going and pushes you to think hard and act fast. I am personally most scared of tornadoes. The same situation happened with me, my mother and my sister when a tornado touched down at my doctors office. However, no one was severely hurt there.
This story impressed me because some people wouldn't do that. It is amazing how her children were completely unharmed. The natural disaster that scares me most would be a tornado. The winds are ridiculously strong and can tear through many things. I've never been a victim of a natural disaster. -Josh Cutchins
She saved her kids life and that is impressive. She risked her own life to do that. I would be scared, I don't really know how I would respond. Tornado scares me the most because I think its the most deadly. I have lived through 3 hurricanes but none too serious.
That's amazing how much she did to help save her children. She tool it all and the kids didn't even have a scratch. Tornadoes worry me for this reason exactly. There hardcore.

That she would actually lose her legs to save her children. I respond badly ,but calmly. A tornado cause they can destroy a house and take anything and it could land who knows where. Maybe, We had to stay at school when there was a tornado and I think it went over the school.
I was impressed that she was able to protect both kids so well. It's hard to tell how well you will respond to an emergency situation because every situation is different. I personally hate tornadoes, because you have no time to prepare for them. ZACH CAHALAN
What impressed me the most was that she didn't let anything leave a scrach on either of her children. I think I would probably do something of the same to save one of my loved ones. Tornados scare me the most because of situations such as this one. I have not been a victim of a major disaster before.
This is an amazing story. I was most impressed that the kids didn't have a starch and that their home was just destroyed like that because it was a big brick home. I think I would respond badly because I start freaking out. I don't have kids so I can't say how I would feel about them, but I know I would do the same thing. If it were my two nieces I would do the same thing. Earthquakes and tornadoes scare me the most because they are unpredictable. I have never been in a major natural disaster and I hope I never will be. If I ever am a victim of one, I just hope I will know what to do.
What impressed me the most was that she lived. I've been in sticky situations before you just got to think really quick. I'd have to say a tornado or a tsunami scare me the most.
I am amazed that someone would risk there life to saved there kids. I have never been in that situation, I could've done the same. I have never had to encounter that kind of problem though.

This story is amazing! That shows how much a mother loves her children. The most impressing part was when she got on top of them and shielded them from everything. She took all the pain and everything so her kids wouldn't get hurt. If she wouldn't have done that her kids probably would be badly hurt, or even dead. I really don't know what I would do in an emergency situation like that. The most probably would be a tornado, to me they are the most deadly. I haven't really been through a big storm.
That shows how much some mothers love their children . I would do the same thing for my child . You never know how important family is until somthing happens to them .
That she didn't care how it would effect her, her first instinct was to protect her children. I don't know how I would respond in this situation, but this mother did it great and this was an amazing story. I think tsunamis are very scary because it is very hard to get out alive, and you never know when they will occur. I have never been a victim to a natural disaster, when tornadoes or hurricanes come through it is usually just shingles and trees down thank goodness.

I was impressed by her being able to live with all that rubble on her. I would never think that someone could live from that tragic incident. I would at least try my best to not panic and freeze up. I would try and respond as quickly as I can. I would hate to be somewhere close to a tornado because it is very powerful and I could lose more than those victims did. I have never really been a victim of a natural disaster but I do remember one time when we had a hurricane and it caused me to get heat bumps all over my face.
This mother was very courageous and brave to have been willing to sacrfice herself for her two kids. It must have been very hard for her to record a message for her husband when she knew she might be dying. The kids are both very young so they probably don't understand the full extent of what happened. I hope that the mother will be able to walk again and be pretty much able to do the normal things every mother should be able to do.
I am impressed that the mother is still alive. If its a tornado go in a basement or a safe place. The most natural disaster scares me is trees falling down. It scares me because my house is next to the woods. Also hurricanes of high winds. There was a small hurricane and a tree fell on the house.
