I think the IPod was Steve Jobs greatest contribution! Mostly all of us use IPods in our daily routines. The other questions I’m not really sure about because I wasn't here on Friday and didn't watch the video.

The movie was called "Pirates of Silicon Valley" because of how they stole from one another to get on top. Bill Gates is more villain then good. He was always trying to get to the top of the competition and get all the money. Steve Jobs was more hero than villain. He tried to stop from stealing from other companies. Steve Jobs greatest contribution to the world is Apple Inc.

To tell you the honest truth, I can not find a reason why the title of the move is "Pirates of Silicon Valley". I think Steve's biggest contribution was creating all this technology for people to use. He made it easier for us to work with technology.

I think it was called “Pirates of Silicon Valley” because he stole Microsoft and other ideas.
They were half villain because they stole ideas from people to help them with there career for the apple corp. When they built the computer, they became half hero because we need computers for schooling, communicating, and job searching. We use the computer almost every day so that’s why he became half hero.
His great contribution was co-finding Apple and Pixar because we use computers today for every day needs, like school work and shopping. It helps us out with our work and is helpful when it comes to communication because it’s easier and faster.

I think it was named “Pirates of Silicon Valley” because they stole ideas.
I think they should classify it as both. They were half villain because they stole things and calmed it was theirs. They were half hero because he made the computer. The computer helps people get things done and faster. People relay on the computers and internet because gives you facts you didn’t know.
I think his greatest contribution was co-finding apple. We have new things like the ipod, ipad, and iphone. He changed peoples lives when he co-fond apple. Everybody uses the technology he founded.

I think the movie was titled that because Bill Gates kept taking inventions from Apple. I think both of them have hero and villain characterics. Steve Jobs was a jerk to his employees and he kept saying his child was not his. Bill Gates kept taking ideas from Apple and he wanted everything to be better than anything Apple did. Steve Jobs was a half hero in the sense that he contributed to a lot of new and helpful technology that makes the world a better place. Bill Gates was a half hero in the sense that he wanted to work along side of Apple. I think Steve Jobs greatest contribution was the iPod. Because, I love music and it makes listening to it a lot easier.

1) It was called Pirates of Silicon Valley because it was widely based on how Steve Jobs and Bill Gates bascially "looted" from each other to put their company ahead of one another. 2) I think that both of them should be categorized under villain, because they both tried to hurt the other ones business. Steve Jobs should be a villain because he treated his workers like crap and made them work 90 hour weeks. Bill Gates should be under a villain because, he tried to corrupt Steve's company. 3) Steve Jobs greatest contribution was the making of the Ipod, which allowed a user to listen to music on the go.

To be honest I don't know why that they called it that there is no reason for them to call it that, but the film was mainly categorized half hero, and half villain because both was doing a great thing for the computers but also they both was trying to still from on another. I believe his greatest contribution was when he gave Microsoft half of the company it was the best decision to make so they wouldn't be fighting against each other anymore.

I think it was titled that because of how Bill gates and Steve Jobbs competed against each other. Also because of how Bill gates was attempting to steal some of Steve’s ideas and inventions. They should be categorized as hero’s because of the inventions they came up with. Without them we wouldn’t have computers like we do today. I think his greatest contribution was the apple computers, and the apple company because we wouldn’t have the technology like we do today.

1. I think the movie was Called Pirates of Silicon Valley because there is piracy throughout the movie, taking each others' software, and the computers were made in Silicon Valley, CA.

2.(I was doing work on the computer.)

3. I think Steve Jacobs' greatest contribution was not only his time, but the effort he put in to share his imagination with everyone. He didn't only create technology; he created passages to thousands of things that are used throughout the entire world to this day. He was an "artist" with a wide perspective and motive to discover and create.

I think that it is where they lived and they took other people's ideas and made them better.
Bill Gates and Steve Jobs have made many advancements in the technology that we used today. Bill Gates actually took over a part of Steve Jobs's company called Apple. I think that Steve Jobs is more of a Villain because he was such a butt hole. I think his greatest contribution was the Ipod.

It was called Pirates of Silicon Valley, because Bill was plotting to steal ideas and material from Steve and he succeeded. Being done so, his creation of Microsoft, took ownership of half of the Apple Company.

I think they should be categorized as heroes. They came up with something that's very vital to our business lives and other things, even though it was based off of someone else’s ideas. They are heroes because they succeeded in being successful and helping others with their very important creation.

His greatest contribution was the Apple Company he started. If it wasn't for his idea we wouldn’t have apple products today. If it wasn't for him Bill Gates wouldn't have been able to carry out Microsoft.

The movie was titled this because, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs competed against each other to create new technology. They also stole ideas from one another to increase the need for their materials. Steve Jobs was depicted as a cocky person and he was disrespectful to the workers. He made the people work for many hours. He also did not want to have anything with his daughter. Steve Jobs did change the technology world forever. Bill Gates started to steal from Steve Jobs, which made Steve distrust Bill Gates. This caused a strain on the business. Steve Jobs grated contribution probably had to be the creation of the apple computers. This has impacted the entire world. Technology has revolutionized the world to new ideas.

I thank that that titled it pirates of Silicon Valley because they are like pirates going out and getting what ever they can. I thank that many people would not be able to do anything without computers today. So it is so cool that them men came up with the computers.

I believe this movie was titled Pirates of Silicon Valley because basically both Steve Jobs’ and Bill Gates’ works were pirated. They were just different forms of what Xerox had already invented but they had improved the general system.

The two men could both technically be categorized as half villain and half hero. Both of them created technological improvements that changed the world forever, causing them to be looked at as heroes. Steve Jobs, who had originally created the program, could be looked at as the hero in this movie and Bill Gates as the villain who stole from his “friend” and did whatever he could to get ahead. But like Bill mentioned in the end of the movie, Steve is calling Bill unfair for stealing something that he wanted to steal first. This metaphor shows that the program was anyone’s game and Bill played fairly by the rules of their contract, it just so happened he used the basics of their programs to create the new thing first.

Steve Jobs greatest contribution, in my opinion, is when he created the Apple II. This was the first mass-market personal computer. Without this first invention, the world of computers would have never turned out the way it has now.

I really don’t know why it’s called Pirates of Silicon Valley. I think they should be categorized as butt holes but they were smart. They literally had nothing to start out with and ended up with billions although Steve Jobs and Bill Gates both stole from someone else to get all that money. They just used there resources to get to the top. I think that Steve Jobs greatest contribution was the Macintosh computer.

Keith Bryant: The title was actually very appropriately named “Pirates of Silicon Valley” , because this movie presented that two great men are in fact thieves. They both stole well “bought“for virtually nothing to what they made for the product. The silicon part of this comes from the material used in building the systems.
The fact that Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are billionaires shows their work effort. The only problem with them is that they did abuse the system. They can be considered as heroes to me because they created the two best inventions in my opinion to ever come out recently.
Steve Jobs greatest contributions in my opinion was the fist personal computer not a PC but a home desktop. That created a whole new market.

I think Steve Job's biggest contribution to the world was thinking of Apple best stuff. Like the iPod, iPad, and Mac computers.

In my opinion Steve Jobs greatest contribution was being the co-founder of Apple. I think this because Apple is very popular and is used by many people.

1. The movie was named Pirates of Siliocon Valley because of the ruthless business nature that Steve Jobs and Bill Gates had rising to power.
2. Eithically speaking these two men could be called villians, resorting to stealing than work together for a greater cause. But then again you could say that they were heroes. It's because of their competition between one another they advanced the computer industry, which obviously has made our world change for the better.
3. Steve Jobs greatest contribution was the Macintosh. It was the first computer with graphic options which have become a major part in any electronic industry today.

1: I believe the movie was titled as it was because the companies both stole, or pirated, things from each other and Silicon is a material commonly associated with computers.

2: I do not quite understand what it is you are trying to get us to do for this one.

3: I for one believe that his greatest contribution was being the co-founder of Apple. Apple products affect a large number of today's population, and many of these things likely would not have been created if Steve Jobs had not been part of Apple.

I think the movie was called "Pirates of Silicon Valley" because they were stealing each others ideas. I think that Steve Jobs and Bill Gates both are hero's and villains. they were both stealing from each other and just changing a few ideas about their systems. Microsoft and Apple should have just came together as one. Neither one of them used only theirs idea's. I think Steve Job's greatest contribution is just leading the Apple company to success(by stealing ideas from Bill Gates).

It was probably named the pirates of silicon valley because both Microsoft and Apple were thieves from Xerox. Apple should be categorized as the company that got screwed over by the real "big brother" which is Microsoft. Microsoft in the end is more of a hero because Windows is the real thing that makes the world go around. It still owns 90% of all the market share for operating systems in the world both mobile and desktop. I think the categorization of both companies are right on pint in the movie because they are both traitors. While Jobs got the worst end to the stick, he still got the one of the better laughs when he created the "i' lineup. Apple finally hit it big when they got their hands on the iPod, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, and the iOS. I feel really bad for Steve Jobs and his passing, but I think Steve had a pretty good life...I mean he was a billionaire and longtime CEO of one of the major corporations in the world. his greatest contribution is Apple as a company because it just like Windows has drastically change the world that we live in.

1. Because both of them were basicly stealing their stuff from eachother & other companies to become who they are.
The Silicon part refers to the actual Silicon Valley in California, where a lot of computer industry is today.

2. visionair: Both of them started with nothing and nobody believed in them, but they made their vision of computers came true.

3. Steve Jobs greatest contribution was the Apple II. It was the 1st mass-market computer. He established a whole new market with that and started the era of computers.

Jesse... 1)The title was "Pirates of Silicon Valley." I believe it was named that because, both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates started their businesses by stealing ideas from IBM to help grow their business. Bill Gates was more villian then hero, because he saw Steve not as a friend, but more as someone to use. He tricked Steve, which allowed him to steal ideas and programs, that apple created. Steve was more hero then villian, because he saw trust as a big issue and he also saw that money wasnt what mattered to him. I believe Steve Jobs's greatest contribution to Apple would be all the ideas and the drive he had to push apple to where it is today.

1. It's called "Pirates of Silicon Valley" because both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs made their fortunes off of someone else's initial idea. They came out of nowhere and 'stole' a place among the rich and famous.

2. I think Bill Gates was portrayed as a better person. He ended up being the one you were hoping would come out on top. It makes it seem like he deserves everything he has. Steve Jobs, on the other hand, was shown in more of a negative light. The whole movie was like waiting for him to change or fail.

3. Steve Jobs greatest accomplishment was advancing computer technology. As soon as the big mysteries about how to run a computer in a user friendly way was revealed it was easier to produce new forms of technology, like the MP3 players and Ipads.

1.)I think this movie was Title that because Steve Jobs and Bill Gates practically stole some of each others ideas.
2.)I think they should be characterized by "Liars and Thieves" because they both lied to each other. They both tried to be on the same side and be friends with each other to see some of each others ideas so that they can make their ideas better. That way they can become the best overall and get more profit out of it.
3.)I think that Steve Jobs' greatest contribution was Apple because there are so many people in this world that use Apple than any other company.Apple is the most useful in schools and at many jobs.

This movie was accurately titled "Pirates of Silicon Valley" because both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were indeed pirates. They stole inventions and ideas to get ahead in the world of technology.

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were both portrayed as half hero and half villain. Some could argue that they are more of a villain than a hero, but without their work, technology would not be where it is today. Although they were pirates, business is business and that's how they looked at it. The inventions they created were never heard of at this time and they were seen as heroes by many.

Steve Jobs greatest contribution was probably the Apple computers. This was the foundation for many other Apple inventions and opened the door for a whole new market. He envisioned that someday we could have access to the internet in the palm of our hand, and he made it happen. Without Steve Jobs and his contributions to Apple, the technology world would not be near as advanced as it is today.

I think the movie was given the title because pirates steal and both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs acted as thieves in the movie. Both men can be considered villians because they abused the system to make money. But then again they can be thought of as heroes because they also helped change the world of technology into what it is today. In my opinion the greatest contribution Steve Jobs made was the iPod. I think the invention of the iPod has changed the world because it has taken television and music to another level. It makes it possible to watch movies and listen to music without being at home or in the car.

I think it was titled "Pirates of Silicon Valley" because they each stole something from each other. For each of the systems either Apple had it first or Microsoft. Which another name for that is pirated.

Steve Jobs can be categorized as both. He was very rude to everybody. He made his workers work very very hard for him. They barely had breaks. Sometimes they worked days. He also yelled at everybody. He was never satisfied. He didn't even claim his own kid! He knew all along that it was his child, but he didn't want anything to do with her. How he can be a hero is that he invented most of computers. He made them better.
Bill Gates can also be categorized as both. He is more hero than villain. He stole ideas from Apple. How he is a hero is he invented Microsoft on his own. He worked so hard to get their. Also he was way nicer than Steve Jobs.

I think Steve Jobs' greatest contribution would probably be inventing Apple. Everybody knows what Apple is. Without him we wouldn't have Ipods, Ipads, Iphone, Apple computers.

1. I think that the movie was called "Pirates of Silicon Valley" because Steve Jobs let Bill Gates take the Mac to better it, and Bill gates took it, copied it, and added some of his own things to it. I don't know about Silicon Valley though.

2. I don't know what they should be characterized as because they both did great things for the world. Steve Jobs thought of some amazing things but he was just mean to everyone, even the ones that were there with him before he was rich. Bill Gates thought of great things as well, but he did steal Steve's Operating System. So i would say they are both, both.

3. Steve Jobs made thought of a lot of great things. Like he was the CEO of Pixar and Apple. Without Pixar i wouldn't have had all the great cartoon movies when i was little. Also with him being the CEO of Apple he thought of some really amazing things like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Mac Computers. But i think his biggest contribution is with Apple.

1. Why do you think the movie is titled [b]Pirates of Silicon Valley

I think the movie was named Pirates of Silicon Valley because the two main characters did in fact "pirate" the ideas and products from either each other. The "silicon" part of the title goes towards the factor that computers have silicon in them.

2. The film portrayed the two "pirates" as half hero, half villain. In one or two paragraphs, give your thoughts as to how they should be categorized.

For the hero portion of the question, I believe that they can be categorized like that because they helped improve the technologies enter a new millennium. Without it, we would still be using simple machines do accomplish other tasks.
They can also be categorized as villains because they did in fact "pirate" ideas from others for some form of self gain. And they did steal from each other.

3. Steve Jobs, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple and Pixar, passed away October 5, 2011 of pancreatic cancer. What do you think was his greatest contribution? Why?

I believe that one of his greatest contributions was the movies he created with Pixar. I watched those cassettes religiously and created most of my childhood. I can't remember a time I never watched a Pixar move (Toy story and the Lion King especially) as a little kid. Even now I still watch them! They taught me values when I was able to understand what they were. Thanks again Steve!

1. The movie was titled Pirates of Silicon Valley because of where Xerox first developed the technology. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates basically stole the technology from Xerox and improved upon it to create their own masterpieces.

2. Heroes are never as noble as they appear. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are both world renowned for their contributions to computers and to mankind. Their work is praised for creating the technology that we enjoy today. While their work is highly beneficial, their success is tainted with their iniquitous methods. They technically never broke the law, but analyzed contracts and patents to skirt around what was legal but basically piracy. The technology they worked on had already been developed by Xerox; they just added their own improvements to it and called it their own. Steve Jobs mistreated his workers and demanded the best of them, but never sought to fulfill their interests. Bill Gates helped Steve Jobs discover new technology then secretly improved it and called it his own. Both men had their vices, but were brilliant in their construction of computer technology. As with all heroes, their corruption is usually overshadowed by their greatness.

3. I believe Steve Jobs' greatest contribution to the world was his goal of making technology for everyone. He basically started the technological revolution that we live in today.

I think that it is titled Pirates of Silicone valley because they each stole something from each other.

I think that they both were portrayed more villainous than heroic because Steve Jobs would get mad and just treat everyone like crap. And Bill Gates is doing everything to reach the top.
