What do you think of the TSA pat-downs? Do you feel more sympathy for the passengers who are searched or for the TSA employees receiving verbal abuse? Why? Would you participate in the opt-out day on Wednesday? Why or why not?

I feel TSA employees are doing what the feels is safe for our country. I can see why citizens that don't plan to harm anyone are offended or upset. Terrorists and suicide bombers are not welcome in this country and it seems that Americans are forgetting that our nations safety is very important. I think it's awful that Americans are naming these potential heroes disgraceful names. I wouldn't participate in opt-out because I think that even though these searches are maximum, our country is forced to take these precautions.

I kind of think it is a little violating but it is for a good reason. I haven't been through a pat-down so I don't know who to have more sympathy for. I feel bad that everyone has to be searched in that way just because of a few stupid people. I also feel bad that the employees receive verbal abuse for something that is not their fault. They are just doing their job. I would participate in the opt-out day just because it would probably make me feel better.

I think the TSA is doing their job. That is what they get paid for. I think it is not right for other fliers calling them names. I would not mind if someone had to pat me down. I would just get a pat down because there is no harm with TSA doing their job.

I don’t see the pat-downs as a big deal. I feel more sympathy for the TSA employees who are getting criticized. They don’t enjoy feeling you up and down. Passengers need to realize this and just cope with it. I wouldn’t participate in the opt-out Wednesday. The opt-out is just going to waste valuable time.

I think that the TSA pat-downs are crazy. I understand that they are just trying to be safe, but they're taking it too far. I feel sympathy for both the passengers and the employees. The passengers because they feel violated and the employees because they're just doing their job. I probably wouldn't participate in the opt-out. I would want to get home to my family and the food. I can't be there if it take apart of the opt-day.

I’m not quite sure on my view of the pat downs. It does seem like a way to ensure safety in going through airports but, it does not seem like something that would be very comfortable. Well the TSA employees who are conducting the pat-downs do not deserve verbal abuse for it is there job. I don’t really have a problem with the pat-downs all that much. Yes, it would be awkward to have someone you don’t know pat you down but I can deal with it.

I am not sure about the TSA pat downs I have never experienced one and the only information I have about it is the things I have heard on the news. I feel more sympathy for the TSA agents who have to give the pat-downs. These men and women are just doing their jobs. I would definitely not support or participate in opt-out Wednesday. This is just going to slow down the lines even more. Efficiency is going to be even more damaged in our airport security

I think that some times they go to far. I feel more symathy for the paasengers who are searched, because some passengers have medical conditions with devices that they have to wear.No i would not participate in the opt- out day on Wednesday , because im not going to the airport to travel Thanksgiving.

I think that the TSA pat-downs are for the United States safety. I can see how they interfere with people’s privacy. In my opinion, if someone wants to blow up a plan they will do it. I feel for both of the passengers and the TSA employees. This is because the passengers have to go through the entire process and the TSA employees have to hear the mouths of the thousands of passenger’s mouths. I would not participate in the opt-out day on Wednesday. This is because I don't have the time for that.

I really didn't know that pat-downs were so serious to certain people, because I never thought of it as a big deal. No, I don't feel sorry for the employees receiving verbal abuse, because sometimes the employees take it too far, as from what I've recently seen, they're not patting you down they're massaging you sexually and that is disgusting. No, I wouldn't participate because the result of that decision will just make everything take longer at the airport.

I think the security checks are necessary but I think they need to revise the process. I also think that one problem with the searches is that some people racially profile. My sister’s boyfriend, Alsim, was stopped and searched for two hours with no real reasons given to him. I understand that they’re tiring to protect flights from terrorists but they need to find a more efficient way to do so. You would think with all this technology there would be some other way to search.

I think that the pat-downs are interesting. I feel more sympathy for the people receiving verbal abuse. It is their job to do those things and they should be respected. I would not participate in the opt-out day just because I would like to get where I’m going. People are only trying to tie up the system things are going to go the way they are regardless of what happens.

I think it’s a little to much for these pat downs. Only if things go off and if they solve the problem they shouldn’t be patted down. It really all depends on the situation. I do feel bad for the passengers but they have to understand that they are protecting us and not trying to hurt us. No I wouldn’t participate on the opt-out Wednesday because it’s something that needs to be done for protection of the US nation

While I understand that the pat-downs are a security precaution, I would not want to be subjected to one. I feel sympathy for both the passengers and the TSA employees. I sympathize with the passengers because to some people would feel like they were being groped and that is not a good thing. I also sympathize with the TSA employees because they are only doing their jobs, they should not be verbally abused for it. No I would not participate in the opt-out day on Wednesday. I would not want to be in line for hours on end.

I don't really know what I think about the pat-downs. Other than making you feel uncomfortable, and taking up time. But it is also a good idea. It protects us, although I have no idea why terrorist target airplanes. I feel more sympathy for the TSA employees, they are simply doing there job and people are verbally abusing them. I wouldn't opt-out because I think it's terrible that people are being so rude to the TSA employees, who have no choice but to do their jobs.

The TSA pat-downs suck. I feel sympathy for the passengers. I feel this becuase some people dont like being touched. No I would not. Becuase its people safety at risk.

I think the pat-downs are stupid. I think that it is bad and should not be done. They are not criminals getting searched for drugs. I would not participate though. I don't think it's my fight.

I think they are totally uncalled for! They touch your privates, last time I checked that was not ok to do in public. Yes I feel sympathy for those who go through the uncalled for pat down. When did it become ok to pat down another person's privates?Last time I checked never! I also feel bad for those who have to do the pat downs.I highly doubt they want to do them, but sadly it is their job to do them. Why? when I can just stay home and cause the airlines to lose commerce. Plus if you have already been strip searched before going on a plan why even fly again? You don't is the answer.

I can't imagine going through the pat-down. I don't want anybody touching me like that. I feel more sympathy for the passengers because there might be a perverted TSA member. They will probably feel embarassed about the whole thing. I would attend the opt-out day on Wednesday because I would like to prove a point to TSA.

I think the pat-downs are unnecessary. I feel sorry for the people who have had to go through the pat-downs because it is really degrading. It seems like the people they choose to pat-down don't pose a real threat to the country. I believe there is a fine line between protecting the country and the right to privacy. I really don't understand what happened to the rights of American people.

I think I want to be a Pat-downer. I don't care they should go through the metal detector if they don't want to be fondled. I feel worse for the TSA employees being verbally abused for doing there job. I wouldn't participate I have better things to do than prove a point.

I understand that it is very unorthodox but people don't have the right to say such words to the screeners. They were just doing their jobs. I don't think the opt-out thing is necessary because all it does is cause more chaos. It won’t solve anything. Also, I'm not the one to get out of line with authority.

The T.S.A. agents are pretty cool people. I want to be a T.S.A. agent someday. The Saturday Night Live sketch was funny. I don’t like to fly on planes. I don’t want people to blow up planes.

I think that it is violating to others for nothing. No one even think that it is wrong. I don't think that they need to check older people in that way. Most people say that it is bad for them even if they were mocked on Saturday night live. But to me if they aren't going to check younger kids then why would they check older people like that.

Unknown said...

I don't really like the pat-downs that the TSA do. Last time I went to the airport they did that to me and I felt violated. I mean it's not like they wake up in the morning loving their job, planning to touch on everyone they can. I don’t seem to understand why they only check certain people though, and not everyone. No employees deserve verbal abuse but it's a fact of life people will always be rude. If it’s something the customer, or whoever doesn’t like of course they are going to have something to say. I think I would participate in opt-out day. It would just be fun to see what would happen, and how everyone would react.

I don't agree with the TSA pat-downs. I understand that they are ment to protect us from people who try to bring dangerous objects onto a plane, but they leave the majority of the American people feeling violated and dirty. I kind of feel bad for the employees, but on the other hand, they have the choice. If my boss were to change my job to something that made me compromise my beliefs, or something that made me feel uncomfortable, then I would quit. I don't think I would participate in the opt-out day on Wednesday, because I don't want anyone to do a pat-down search on me.

I think the TSA pat-downs make people feel violated. I do feel more sympathy for the passengers. I don't think it's necessary for them to check the people that much especially like children. I know that I would participate in the opt-out day on Wednesday if went there. The reason why is because I wouldn't want people feeling all over my body just to see if I have anything bad.The TSA should check passengers like foreigners in the country.

I think that pat-downs are stupid. Yes, I do feel more sympathy for those passenger who get searched because it is violating their space. I could care less about the people doing the search, because they don't know what it feels like to be rubbed on for no reason. No, I would no participate in the opt-day. I would handle the situation in a different manner. Something needs to be done about this. Even little children are being searched, it is ridiculous!
