Life is Risk

Which person's story surprised you most? Explain what you think the statement, "if you've never failed, you've never lived" means. Has there been a time when a failure in one area of your life paved the way for success? Why do you think we must fail in order to succeed?

Thomas Edison's because he invented things. His teacher told him he was too stupid. They fired this guy from a newspaper because he had no original ideas or creativity, Walt Disney! I believe in order to succeed you must fail. By failing you are learning from your mistakes.

In order to put in enough energy and heart to succeed in something a person must first be motivated. People are motivated by different things but many of us are motivated to succeed by being told we are a failure at it. People use the negative comments as motivation to do something. This is because they want to prove that comment wrong. People want to show those who doubted them that they can succeed.

The one that surprised me the most was the story about Thomas Edison, and his teacher telling him that he was too stupid.I think the statement means that everyone in life has failed at least one thing in life and if you have never failed you will never learn from that particular mistake and never make it again. I think that if we fail the first time, the second effort will be much greater than the first and succeed.

In order to succeed I believe that we must fail at some point in our lives. Everyone fails at times in their lives, this is normal. When you fail you have to learn from your mistakes, if you don’t you are destined to fail again. If you learn from your mistakes your chances for success are multiplied exponentially. And when you succeed the failures in your life will feel very small and insignificant.

I was surprised by two stories. It’s hard to believe that Michael Jordan didn’t make his high school basketball team and turned out to be one of the most famous and best basket ball players. Another surprise to me was that Walt Disney was turned down by a newspaper company for lack of “imagination” and then years later created the Disney Corporation. To me, getting knocked down or being pushed away is part of what makes you stronger later in life.

I think the statement “if you’ve never failed, you’ve never lived” means that the more you fail the more you want something. Since you want something you try harder to get, sometimes you will do crazy things to obtain that goal. I also think it means that if you have everything handed to you then you don’t understand the value of it. That goes for life as well because if you don’t grab life by the horns then it is going to pass you by. Life is a great thing and you can’t just let it go by, for some people they have to fail at a dream before they realize that fact.

Of all the people in that video, Michael Jackson’s story surprised me the most. I never imagined him getting cut from the high school basketball team. The statement “if you’ve never failed, you’ve never lived” means that failure is a part of the human life. We will fail and we should embrace it and learn from it. There was one time when I flunked a Spanish quiz and I learned from that and I passed the test.

Michael Jordan's story surprised me the most. He was cut from the basketball team and cried and he still became famous. If you have never failed you have never learned from anything therefore you have not experienced a key point in life. I failed my learners permit test two times before I passed it. That helped me to try harder and succeed.

Michael Jordans story surprised me the most because he was able to get to the NBA and accomplish what no one could. He got cut from his basketball team and decided he needed to get better. "If you never failed, you've never lived" means that humans are never perfect. All humans will make a mistake and it is alright the first time and learn what you could have done different. It is not got to make the same mistakes over and over agian. I do think we must fail in order to succeed.

This video was disappointing. I want to see good, up beat videos; not sad depressing ones. All these stories of failure were shocking because of the people they are about. In my opinion Abraham Lincolns’ story of failure was the most surprising. I did not know that he lost his fiancĂ© and lost in eight elections. That was very shocking knowing that he was one of the most amazing presidents. If you do not fail once in your life you will never know how to succeed. Failure is a part of success. Learning how to fail will give you the strength to be successful in other accomplishments. The story of my failure would have to be in my freshmen year when I failed in AP World History with an F. I now learned, in a positive manner, that that class was way too advanced for me at the time and that it’s ok to fail as long as you can pick yourself up an keep on going.

The story that surprised me the most was Michael Jordan’s. He was cut from his high school basketball team but he ended up being one of the best players to ever live. He is highly praised in the basketball world. For him to get cut and afterwards go into his room and cry is just amazing to me. The statement that says”life=risk” means you will probably have to take risks in your life. If you don’t succeed in making your dreams come true the first time, don’t give up just keep trying.

I would have to say that Lucille Ball's story, as well as The Beatles stories are the most surprising to me.When they say "if you've never failed, you've never lived" it means you have to work for what you want if it comes easily it is not pushing you to your full potential. I am not really sure of a time where I have failed and then eventually succeeded; other than with riding my bike without training wheels and falling, then getting to a point where I would ride my bike everyday. :)

The persons story that suprised me the most was Michael Jordans. This is beccause Michael Jordan was one of the best basketball players of all time but, he was cut from his basketball team in high school. The saying "if you've never failed, you've never lived" means that even if you fail at something you have never experienced the real downfall of life. I think that we must fail in order to succeed to make it better for the next time we try.

None of the stories really surprised me. "If you've never failed, you've never lived" means you can't fail if you do not try. If you don't try then you are not doing anything and if you're not doing anything then you are not living. There have been plenty of times that I have failed at things but I have taken the lessons from those failures and came out a better person. We must fail in order to succeed because sometimes failure is the only way you can learn what is really important and maybe even learn about yourself.

Michael Jordan because he's like great at basketball and they cut him from the team. That coach must feel pretty stupid. "If you never failed, you've never lived" means when you fail you appreciate your successes more. You have to fail so you can see how far you've come.

First of all let me just begin with oh my gosh!!! I really liked this video its very inspiring!Thomas Edison's story was the most surprising, because he invented the light bulb one of the most important inventions in the world. I think that this video means if you never failed at anything you do then you will never learn form your mistakes in life. For example if you make a mistake in math class then you will know how to do it right the next time!!

The story that surprised me the most was the one about Walt Disney. I think the statement means that sometimes if you don’t fail first, you won’t succeed. If no one critiques your work, you have no ideas for improvement. Sometimes failing also gives you the motivation to be better or make something better. A time when failure helped pave the way for my success was during a problem solving competition. If I would have never failed with my first idea, I would have never thought of the idea that got me to the regional level of the competition.

I think the statement means your always going to fail. Your also going to succeed. I can't think of anytime i have failed that got into the way of me succeeding. In order to succeed you must fail because you have to learn from your mistakes and try to do better next time. All the storyies kinda surprised me.

The story about Ulysses S.Grant surprised me the most. The statement "if you never failed, you never lived" means you have to fail once in your life, before you can succeed.

Mike Jordan's story made me say "WHAT!?!?!" The statement is pretty true. I failed the 6th grade because of math. Now I'm a sophomore and I'm taking Algebra II next semester and my grades are better than they've ever been. Sometimes failure opens our eyes to see where we went wrong and allows us to correct our faults.

I think Michael Jordan’s story surprised me the most. Most professional basketball players were the stars on the high school team, yet one of the greatest players was cut from their team. The other story that completely shocked me was Walt Disney’s. He was fired for not being creative but now he owns Disney World and so many cartoons. I think “If you’ve never failed, you never lived” means if you were perfect life would be no fun. You would never have anything to work for or look forward to. If were perfect you never have to work for anything it all comes so easy and that would not be fun to try and actually work for something. If you don’t ever fail you won’t ever learn anything, or improve in whatever you are doing.

I love this video! Michael Jordan’s story surprised me the most. It’s amazing how he overcame that difficult situation to achieve success. The statement “if you’ve never failed, you’ve never lived,” means that no one is perfect. You cannot live without making a mistake. Without failure, there is no success

The beatles story becuase they were and still are one of the best bands that ever lived. That failure is apart of life every one failes one time or another. If you dont fail you dont become stronger mentaly, physicaly, and emotionaly. Failure brangs the best out of people it brangs a force from within that pushes you to acheive what u have failed.

this blog shows that you rarley succeed the first time you try somthing but i should be the love you have for that that makes you want to try it again until you succeed and thats how some of our greatest acheivers made their achievments.

"If you've never failed, you've never lived". It means that you have to mess up sometimes in order to grow and learn new things. Sometimes people will try to knock you down but you have to ignore what they say & never doubt yourself. You can do anything possible if you just put your mind to it. Its funny how there's so much each and everyone, even celebrates go through but no one ever really knows.

Micheal Jackson's,it amazes me that he got cut from his school's basketball team . I think the statement means you can't live life without having failed at some thing .
Yes,when I realized I could not possibly be a vet I realized I could still use my hands to help people . Without failure you can never learn what your good at,so in a sense to fail is to succeed .

This is a very true blog because, it shows us that it doesn't matter what anyone says, you can still succeed at life if you put your mind to it. We must fail in order to succeed because it only makes us stronger. Failure is just life, and every moment in our lives wont be perfect at all. Failing is the best teacher of life. It teaches us what and what not to do, so next time we would know.

When it says "if you've never failed , you've never lived" it means no one is perfect. Everyone in life makes mistakes. Yes , there has been plenty of time when I failed at something, but it made me stronger in other areas. I think we must fail in order to succeed because, you learn from your mistakes. That's just how life goes.

I believe that you can come right back and show them all they were wrong. That's what many of these inspiring people in this video did. They proved everyone wrong.

This video surprised me in many ways. Who wouldn’t want Michael Jordan on their basketball team? The statement “If you haven’t failed, you haven’t lived,” Means that to do especially well in something you must make a couple mistakes first. I think that we in order to succeed must fail several times to figure out that there are many different ways to do one thing. We just have to figure out which way works best for us and others.

This video I watched today truly inspires me. I say this because of how all these people who were told they would not amount to anything, did. They weren’t given much a chance to prove anything. If they did they didn’t really do enough of an impressive job. This video reaches out to the youth or people who didn’t get a chance or was told they couldn’t do it. Anything’s is possible. Believe in yourself because that’s where the truth lies!

The statement “If you never failed, you never lived” means that you never failed you haven’t really done anything in your life. This is said because everyone is not perfect. A life without failure is one without event or enjoyment. So a risk is good is even necessary to know what it means to live. It is the failures that push a person forward.

The quote "if you've never failed, you've never lived" means that everyone fails at least once in life and if you haven’t that means that you’re haven’t lived cause you can’t live a perfect life. This video let me realize that you can still be successful even though you have failed at something before. I was surprised to hear the story about MJ=) …… I think that you have to fail before you succeed because you can try again and be better at it the second time you try.
