What in this video surprised you the most, if anything? Do you embrace change or are you afraid of change and why? How different do you think the world will be when your children are born? Do you think all change is good? Why or why not?
As time passes on the only thing inevitable is change. If this change is for the better or the worse is largely dependent on the circumstance. In the video it talks about the advances is internet technology and world wide communications. This type of change is good and bad. It is good for companies that want to advertise their product and conduct e-commerce. It is also good for the average person who can now become more knowledgeable in the ways of the world. It is bad because the same positives can be used in negative ways.
Change is nothing to be afraid of, but it’s ok to be scared of it sometimes. Without change the world would be the same forever. If man hadn’t thought about changing how we travel then people would still be walking wherever they went instead of driving. In fact, mankind would never have left the Stone Age. Even change can be scary and uncomfortable it should be welcomed. Granted some changes are very debatable and wrong, but that doesn’t speak for all of change.
I am not afraid of change. I am a Navy brat and have had to move every three and a half years until about six years ago. I had to embrace change because no two places are the same. I’ve lived in Maine, Hawaii, Texas, and Virginia. There is always a new dialect to get use to, a new type of society, and different types of people to get to know and befriend. Change is not something to be afraid of it is a good thing because the world is always changing and you have to change with it.
What surprised me the most was that the total text messages exceed the population of the planet. I embrace the change, without it this country would not grow. The world will be somewhat more advanced when this generation babies are born. All change is not a good thing. Change brings unwanted things like job losses, crime and other things which can hurt the human race.
That China will soon become the number one English speaking country in the world. Both because some change is good like the improving technology, but some of it is also bad, especially the fact about by 2049 a $1000 computer will exceed the computational capabilities of the entire human species. When our children are born I think there will be a huge change in society, with the way things are rapidly evolving now there is no doubt to how the way things are going to change in the future.
The words surprised me the most. It seems like their is no end to words. I see each year the dictionarys grow bigger and bigger. Another thing that surprised me the most was the way kids are being born over sees. I think the world will change in a big way when my kids are born by having more advanced technology than what we have now. I think some of the changes will be for the good and some will not be.
The most surprising clips was the one about the number text messages exceeding the total population per day, and how many babies were born during the time of this video, it was shocking. All change has an effect. Weather it’s for the good or the bad that depends on the person. Some things that are changed don’t work in the long run so then they have to be changed again. I do not think the world will be much different when my children are in the 21st century. People have such a high demand for technology now; creating new devices will be harder for the world to come since things we are learning our firsts years of college will be outdated by the time were graduated. What will we do with that knowledge? I embrace change because things can’t get any worse then they are today.
I am not really surprised but much in this video I have noticed how fast technology has been advancing. I am not afraid of change. I see it as a possibility for good things. As for when my children are born I am not sure how different it would be, although I think it would be more of a difference when the graduate than it would be when they are first born. I think most change is good, there was something in the video that said a computer would be smarter than a human, and that I think could be a bad thing, although I don’t really understand how that could be possible, because if man creates it how can it be smarter? I don’t believe change is bad, I think most change is good, but technological change should be feared to some extent.
The video was extremely interesting and the statement about a super computer in 2013 being smarter then the entire human race really surprised me. All these changes are actually kind of worry inducing. I mean what if the computers get so smart they can just do are jobs for us. What will happen to the human race? Will we just get fat and sit around? I guess I’m just not a person who embraces change. The future is a strange place and I’m not sure how my children will live in it. Its up to them where it will go though.
The fact that surprised me the most was that it took TV 13 years to gain 50 million users. I thought the TV would’ve grown a lot faster, especially since now most families have more then one TV. All the other facts were pretty much expected. As far as change goes, not all of it is good. However, most of it can be good. Change can bring about positive advancements but with each advancement there’s always going to be a way to turn it into a negative thing.
I think that I embrace the change that is happening to the world. The world is depending more and more on the technological advances that is happening. Most of the change is good, but since we depend on technology so much I don’t think we are learning as much as we could. On the flip side you never know one day the world might be taking over by computers. The fiction movies might become real. It would be weird if a computer was smarter than the human population, but I believe that it just might happen.
Just about everything in the video made sense so nothing was really a surprise, it's just the world we live in. I think everyone embraces some changes and are afraid of changes as well. Just because you embrace it doesn't mean it still doesn't frighten you. When my children are born the world will be completely different from what it is now because things change everyday. All change isn't good but all change isn't bad. Some changes benefit you while others do not. You might not be excited about certain changes but in the end they will be better for you and one day you'll see that.
I think that the world has become more technological due to the more information given out to people. In the video, nothing really surprises due to the fact that we become more advanced everyday. I embrace the changes that come my way because if I don’t I will have to either learn them or learn to love them. The world as we know today will be very different when our children are alive. This is because everyday new findings, advances, and technology are made to help society grow. I think this change will be good for the most part other than relying more on technology. Some change is not the best but, it depends on the subject that is changing. By, Courtney McCaskey
The one thing that surprised me was that 394 babies were born during that video. I'm not afraid of change now but when it comes in the future i'm sure I will. By the time my children are born the world would have changed alot. I think so because there is new everday of countries inventing and trying new things. You never know what could happen.
It surprised me that China will soon be the number one English speaking country in the world. I embrace change. I think things will be very different when I have kids. Not all change is good, when you make new technology theres new problems with it. Rachel C.
China becoming the number one English speaking country in the world. I try to embrace change as best I can, though my past has made that a little bit hard. If I am able to have any I think there may actually be flying cars at the rate we are going. No I do not think all change is good. My reason being is look what we did to China. That technology we had killed many many people and is still showing up in children their today! So no not all change is good.
The fact that so much unique information is generated each year is surprising. The world will be a lot different when my children are born. I embrace change because change is good and it will happen whether we like it or not.
The thing that surprised me the most was during the time that this clip was showing 67 babies were born in America! I think that by the time my children are born that technology would be 3 times it is now. Our generation are coming up with the most amazing things that our own parents wouldn't even thought of when they were our age. No one knows what the future will hold before us just waiting to be invented to make our lives better. I really think that this change is good because more jobs will be open for more people to come.
The most surprising thing about the video was that some day a computer will be smart than the entire human race. Sometimes I think change is good, but too much change can be a bad thing. If we consider what was stated in the video, we are changing so fast to the point our education will be out-of-date before we even finish school. When my children are born, I don’t think there’s going to be anything for them to do. If we think about it now, there is little that hasn’t been done already. If we wait a few years, the world could be a totally different place.
The world is changing every second of every day. Some of the change is good and some is bad. I believe that our world is starting to become reliable on computers more then we ever have before. It is a scary thought that a computer could be smarter then a human brain. The world will be completely different in the years to come.
I have seen this video before in Mrs.Bryants' class. The video didn't surprise me that much; the only part that surprised me was how many babies were born so quickly. Technology now a day has become so high tech that anything is possible! Change can be a good and a bad thing all depending on the situation. I'm not afraid of change because it's going to happen whether we humans like it or not.
It's so amazing how far we have grown as a planet in technology. I don't always like change, but I'm not afraid of it. The most surprising fact was if MySpace were a country it would be the 5th largest in the world. When my children are born, I have no doubt there will be new, complex technologies in the world.
Ok this blog was a little disturbing. But it only proves my point that one day technology is going to take us over. I am saddened by the fact that China will soon be the number one English speaking country in the world. The fact that India has more honors kids then there are kids in America is believable only because India is over populated.
The thing in this video that surprised me the most is, how many babies were born just during the length of the video. I embrace change, i feel as if change is what makes you a better person. I think the world will be a lot different when my children are born. I just can't imagine how bad things will be in the economy, in their social life, or even just life period. No, I don't think change is good. Some people change and end up being something they really shouldn't be.
What surprised me the most was, the amount of babies being born during the presentation in India and China. I'm not afraid of change in one way, and in another i am. I'm not afraid of change because, it improves the knowledge of our world. The other way that I am afraid of change is that, it would cause different economical problems between trading with countries and jobs. I think the world will be ten times faster when my children are born, than what it is now, because about every second and or minute, someone invents or thinks of something new.
Nothing really surprised me because I have seen this video before, In Mr. Downing’s class. I embrace most change, except for Obama, and the supercomputer smarter than the entire human race. I don’t want to think about having kids right now, kids scream, cost money, and are high maintenance. By the time I have kids the world will probably be a different place. No, Not all change is good, something’s should be left alone and not changed at all. Kendall
Honestly not many things shocked me in this video. The world is constantly changing and it’s progressively advancing. Some change is good; there are new medical advances every day, if it wasn’t for that the lifespan of the population would not live as long. If you think about it this way though many computers will be taking the jobs of people and that will eventually lead to a recession in the economy, because of the drastic loss of jobs. I think the world is going to be completely different my generation now I’ll admit is lazy and I think it’s just going to get worse. We’re not used to having to do as much work as our parents did when they were our age.
This video really shocked me. It's hard to believe that technology has become so advanced. The only problem with some of these new technologies is that it could hurt people's jobs and businesses. Although, I'm not sure what else they might come up with. I don't even know if it will ever happen, but I'll believe it when I see it. Peyton
This video I watched today was truly interesting. It compared old statistics to this day and age. It also showed how some much internet use and inventions doubled. Some things even tripled. A lot of websites have gotten more press and buzz from all the members they have on them. This video also compared other countries together. Although I didn’t understand this video, I thought it was helpful to me and the world that were in.
What surprise me the most was about Bermuda. I was thinking that it would have been the United States. I’m kind of scared of change, but its apart of getting older. I’m not sure what the world gone be like by the time I have kids, its in chaos now. This video informed me with a lot of information.
this video shows me that the world is evolving rapidly by the day technology has more than tripled in the last five years and computers are being made better by the day before yahoo was the biggest thing goin now facebook has enuf people to start there own country i might start a social website so i can make some millions
