Kevin vs Barbara

Kevin Skinner and Barbara Padilla were the favorites this year on "America's Got Talent." In the end, however, Kevin Skinner came out on top.

Do you agree with America's decision? Why or why not? Who do you think is more talented, Kevin or Barbara? Who's story do you think is the most inspirational and why? Why do you think America chose Kevin as the winner of $1 million and a headline show in Las Vegas?

I think America made the right choice. I think that Skinner was the better of the two. I do have to say, barbera's story was more tragic than Skinner's. I think America chose him because he's a country boy that can sing good.

Yes I do agree with America's decision.Because i think that more Americans will listen to that type of music. I think that Kevin is more talented. Barbara story was more inspirational because she was a cancer survivor. Because more people listen to country than Opera.

I agree American's decision because I liked Kevin. He is very talented. I think they both are very talented, but Barbara has to have strong muscles in her voice. My opinion on who is the most inspirational is Barbara because she had to struggle through cancer. She made it though and got her dream. I think America chose Kevin because he was awesome. I liked the way he could joke then get up on stage and sing his heart out.

I do agree with America's decision. I liked both contestants were very talented. Barbara was a very inspirational story and Kevin was like the boy next door. I'm sure it was a tough decision for America. Barbara will surely be recognized by the public for her incredible talent.

I think that Kevin won because he has a more popular style of musical talent. It would have been nice if Barbra won for her little girl but not many people in America like opera. I personally love the classical music and the voice of an opera singer, but Kevin did win and rightfully so. As a harp player myself I know how difficult it is to have my music accepted in the modern world, but country is much more modern and likable by the majority. With his talent (smooth voice, emotional guitar, and even his choice of song) was absolutely amazing.

I think America decision was rite. Kevin Skinner performance was very emotional and people could connect to the song he was singing. I believe Barbra is more talented though because it takes a lot to be an opera singer. Like I said Kevin performance was emotional and people could relate to the song. He would also be more entertaining to watch also. –Alia H.

I agree with America's decision, I think that Kevin is more "America's choice" he is struggling and country which i think relates more to the people then the oprea singer. As far as talent however i think Barbara is a much more talented singer. Also Barbra's life through battling cancer is much more inspirational to me being that both of my parents are ile and it's possble for me to follow in there path so i need to remember to keep fighting if something ever does happen to me. But Kevin did very well and i hope he has a great new life.

I enjoyed both musical selections by Kevin and Barbara. I agree with America's decision on choosing Kevin as the winner of America's Got Talent. Even though both of them were musically talented I believe Kevin showed the most potential. America chose Kevin because he drew the viewers attention. His voice and appearance was a major factor in his victory.

Personally I do not agree with America’s decision. I believe that Barbara should have gone home with the money and the prize. Yes, Skinner was very talented but Barbara should have come out on top. Barbara story is very inspirational because she is a cancer survivor with a little girl at home. Her little girl is one of the reasons that she came on the show. Her little girl is her life.

I do agree with America's decision because I thought Kevin Skinner was the better singer. I liked his style of music better than the opera. Talent wise, I think that Barbara had more. Not many people have the strength to sing opera. Barbara had the most inspirational story. Cancer is a very horrible sickness to have and for her to be fighting it is amazing. I think they picked Kevin as the winner because more people could relate to his music than the opera.

I do agree with America's decision on choosing Kevin. Kevin and Barbara are both very talented. Personally, i liked Kevin's voice and personality better. Both Kevin and Barbara's stories were inspirational to me. Kevin came from a hard life and still succeeded and Barbara fought cancer and made it through.

I think that America made the right decision. Kevin was very talented. Barbara was to, but I think that it was more shocking that Kevin could sing so well. Barbara’s story was more inspirational. She was still reaching for her dreams as a mother and a survivor of cancer. There is nothing more inspirational than that. I think that America chose Kevin as the winner because he truly was talented and it was so unexpected. His personality was so sweet and genuine and America just grew to love him.

I do agree with America's decision, Kevin Skinner was a great singer, and more to the common music listened to today. I believe that they were equally talented, however Barbara's kind of music is not as up to date as Kevin's. Barbara's story was more inspirational, do to the fact that she had to fight for her life, and then found out she could not conceive children so she adopted a beautiful little girl. I think America chose Kevin due to the fact that he was a better singer, and up to date with the music, and he showed many more emotions than Barbara.

I do agree with there decision, I believe that kevin was very touching and could bring a tear to your eye. I think that both of them are talented but I think Barbara is very talented. She could hold keys that not alot of people can hold and keep going for a very long time. Barbara is very inspirational just because she only has a certain time to live with cancer and you never know when she is going to past. I think they picked Kevin is because he had a certain type of feeling on the world as in emtionally wise.

I agree wit America’s decision on picking Kevin skinner to be the winner of Americas Got Talent.
I think as far as being the most talented that Barbara is the most talented. Barbara story is more inspirational because she dealt with a lot in her life to get where she is and I know that dealing with cancer is hard and sometimes it’s hard not to give up. I think America chose Kevin because he was basically poor and had a good heart. Kevin won the crowd with his voice more than with his story of life. Pleasing the crowd is the key to winning a competition.

I agree with America's decision, because Kevin sounded just like Garth Brooks. I think he had more talent because he could also play the guitar. Her story is probably more inspirational because she had cancer and didn't let it stop her from persuing her dream.I think America chose Kevin because they relate more to him than they do to Barbara.

America's Got Talent... I hardly watch it so I don't think I am that great of a judge for this. But anyway, I think Kevin Skinner deserved it. Although Barbara Padilla singing was amazing. She has a great voice. Kevin Skinner was pretty good also, especially for a country singer. So I think is fair either way of who was actually voted the America's Got Talent winner.

Yes, I agreed with America's decision. I thought he was very good. I also thought Barbara was good but I was happy he won. I think Barbara was more talented because it's hard to do opera... I've tried before. I think that her story was more inspirational, because it's hard to survive cancer, I know. My father had it and didn't make it. I think the reason America chose Kevin Skinner is because he was good at what he does and he deserved every bit of it!

No, I don't agree with America's decision. Kevin's an awesome singer but I think that Barbara deserved it. She's an amazing singer and a cancer servivor. I honestly don't know why America chose Kevin. Yeah, he can sing his heart out, but I prefer Barbara Padilla.

I most definitely agree with America's decision because I am not a big fan of opera. I think they are both talented but in a way I think Barbara is more talented because Kevin will never be able to hit a high not in like that in his life. The fact that Barbara had cancer makes it a little more inspirational. I think Kevin won because there are more people who listen to country other opera. -Andrea Johnson

If I were a judge, I have no idea who I would have chosen, so I do agree with America's decision. I would have said that if Barbara would have won also. I think both are very talented, but if I had to listen to their music I'd choose Kevin. Barbara's story is so much more inspirational though. Kevin is just a country boy, but she suffered from cancer. I think America chose Kevin though because more people would listen to his music more than hers, even though she was very talented.

Yes I do agree with America's decision of choosing Kevin Skinner. I agree because I don't think that Barbara was good enough. She might could sing but oprah isn't what you sing in a competition. Barbara's story was more inspiration to me because she is battling cancer and that takes a lot of strength and courage to do that. I think they chose Kevin Skinner as the $1 million dollar winner and a headline show in Las Vegas because he showed them personality, spirit and talent.

No, I believe that Barbara should have been the winner. Although Kevin is skilled at guitar AND vocals, I really like the song sung by Barbara and she had an amazing opera voice. I don't see either of the contestants inspirational in the form of music, only in persaverance. Standing up to cancer is a great accomplishment and its amazing that she has the strength to sing after that. I believe they chose Kevin because is awkward casual voice compared to Barbara's, his ability to sing and play guitar simultaneously may have also been a factor in the decision.

It is amazing to find such talent in America these days. Thankfully, we have shows now that show amazing people with superb talents. I do not agree with America’s decision to choose Kevin Skinner because not only was Barbara Padilla a very talented singer, she got over cancer and has a little girl. She was an inspiration to everyone who has or who has ever had cancer. It proves just because you have all the odds stacked against you, you can still rise to the top and succeed. I’m happy for Kevin but I believe Barbara should have won. -Nick Powell

I disagree with America's decision. I think that Kevin is very talented, but Barbara has more. Yes, Kevin has a good voice, but it sounds just like every other country music singer's voice. Barbara has something unique. She can sing opera, which not many people can do. It takes real talent. Her story is also the most inspirational; she fought cancer and stayed strong throughout. That takes real power and a strong will. America probably chose Kevin because everyone loves an underdog story. Kevin was a true underdog, coming from the deep country. It was unexpected that he would sing well, so when he proved himself it made him seem larger than life.

I have to say I don't agree I have picked Barbara, even though I'm not a fan of opera. I think both of them inspirational stories. I think they chose Kevin because he is good, and comes a long way but also blows everyone's mind with his talent.

I do not agree with those people. I think Barbara Padilla should have won. I don't know who has more talent, I mean I think they have equal talent. I think Barbara's story was more inspirational because of her cancer! And her daughter was really freaking adorable(just had to add that little detail). I think they chose Kevin because his job sucked, like really sucked! I mean come on what kind of job is a chicken catcher? That is a really gay job! But anyway, I think that's why they chose him.

After watching the video I think that they are both talented, but I think Barbara is better. I don't like her style of music, but she had a better voice. On the other hand I understood the decision because people in America listen to that style of music more than opera, but to me Barbara did sound much better. When I listened to the stories, Barbara's was way more touching. She had a disease to overcome and a story to tell. They were both good, so i get why it was close.

Tyrell B. No I dont' agree with American decsion picking kevin skinner to be the winner. Because Barbara had cancer and still had a beatiful voice. I think Barbara have more talented than Kevin Skinner. Barbara story is more inspirational because she had to fight and it is very hard to fight cancer. Because they never had country sanger to win American Got Talented.

Im not really sure if I do agree with America's decision or not because they both had talent and if I were one of the judges I really would'nt know who to have chosen. The most inspirational story was Barbara's story because my sister was diagnosed with Leukiemia in January of last year and she is now in remission to and is doing great. I think America chose Kevin because of the story he told through his song that he sung. Either way, they were both very good and they were both very sucessful on Americas Got Talent.

Actually i think that America made the right choice. I mean Barbara Padilla is good but most American's are not into Opera. I think Barbara's story was the most inspirational because it was emotional and touching, because she has cancer and is overpowering her feeling of defeat with will to accomplish her dream to sing. I have to say that America chose Kevin because he was singing country witch is more popular than opera. Either way someone would have lost and there would be someone mad anyway so the choice is what the majority wants it too be. James S.
