SportsKids of the Year

What in this video inspired you most? Have you ever had a "Connor" in your life, i.e. someone who did something completely selfless for you? If so, explain. Have you ever been someone's "Connor?" If so, what did you do? If you could give a Sportsman of the Year award, who would you give it to and why?

This video shows that with family you can accomplish anything. I've never had a "Connor" in my life because I don't like it when people go out of their way to do things for me. I can do things for myself. My Sportsman of The Year award would go to myself. I'd like a sweet varsity jacket from Sports Illustrated.

This video is inspirational because if you do something that makes people look, you can get an award. I have never had a "Conner" in my life because I am not helpless. I have never been somebodies "Conner" because I think you should help yourself. If I had a Sportsman of the Year award to give I would give it to the best sports player because he earned it.

The video shows that you can do anything, and that even if something is hard, it's not impossible. I've never had a "Connor" in my life, because personally, I've never had to have anyone do things for me. And when they do, it's for something in return. I've been someone's 'Connor' before, yes. My friend had injured himself. And at the risk of being late to every class, I helped him get to and from his classes.

This video did inspire me in a way that I am thankful to be able to get up every morning and do what I do. I've never had a Connor in my life but it just says so much for such a young little boy will do for his younger brother. In my own opinion I believe that if someone were to receive a Sportsman of the Year award I believe the families of children such as these deserve it.

This video is very inspirational. Conner is very thoughtful and caring for a boy his age. It is great that someone could do something like this to help better someone else's life. It is very selfless of Conner to do triathlons with his disabled brother. I would like to say I have been someone's "Conner," but I can't say I have.

This video is very inspirational. What inspired me the most is that he'd race with him without being embarrassed. I would say the "Connor" in my life would be my mom. She goes out of her way to make sure I have the things I need. If I could give a sportsman of the Year award it would be definitely to Connor and Cayden.

This video was very inspirational. I would want my kids to be like this no matter what. Matter of fact, we should be like this to everybody. Even if they did came in last place in their races, he never gave up. He always had the patience that somebody with down syndrome needs. I love the fact that he always gave his best and that he would let people pick on him. It does not matter what look if on the outside but only in the onside.

The fact that Conner went to those great lengths for his brother speaks volumes to his character and personality. Conner truly cares about his brother. The world needs more people like Conner. If there were more "Conners", then the world would be a much better place. Selflessness is very absent from this world. Especially in our country. Not many people are selfless and help others just to help them. If more people did that, I think crime rates would go down and peace of mind would come up.

Connor is a very inspirational person. Throughout the video, I was constantly on the verge of tears because of how amazing Connor treats Cayden. The "Connor" in my life would probably be my dad because before he passed away, he would do everything he could for me and I was always his first priority in life. My father and this video has inspired me to become my niece's "Connor". I would give the Sportsman of the Year award to Donovan Cosbert because no matter the outcome of any game he plays he is always optimistic and generous to the opposing team.

This video was truly touching. It just goes to prove that regardless of circumstances, anyone can achieve anything. It also proves that with a strong family bond nothing is out of reach. It doesn't matter if Connor and Kaden win or lose, it is about the time spent together acting as "normal" brothers. I personally have never had a "Connor" in my life. The whole family deserves the Sportsman of the Year award because they all encourage and help Connor and Kaden succeed in whatever they do.

Connor is recognized for helping his brother live his life happier. He stood up for him when he couldn't defend himself. I have not been someones Connor or had one as I think people should help themselves and I am to laid back to worry one way or another. When I need something I will get it myself eventually and if someone else needs something they can get it themselves. I would give a sportsman of the year award to whoever they decide wins that year.

This video shows that you can accomplish anything, no ,after how hard it is. I can't remember if I've been someone's Connor before, since I can't remember most things from my past anymore. The same goes for someone being my Connor. I can't really say who I'd give a Sportsman of the Year to. I'm not even going to say myself, because even though I consider myself a good person, I'm not nice enough to earn the award.

This story is beyond inspirational. When Connor competed in a triathlon with his little brother, Cayden, I was at a loss of words. Connor went out of his way to give his brother the feelings of joy and happiness that Cayden couldn't physically fulfill on his own. Connor truly demonstrates that it doesn't matter what is on the outside that matters, but what is on the inside that does. In my life, I hope I will have an impact on someone's life the way Connor has had on tons.

This video should inspire anyone to do the right thing for there brother. I think that he could be a role mole for anyone, because he didn't have to take his brother along in the races that he entered. They will always have a bond that no one will able to brake apart. This video makes me want to be nicer and be a better brother to my little brothers. They should enjoy there time meeting the basket ball team because they earned it.

The story about Connor and Kaden is about how a older brother (Connor) helped make his little brother(Kaden) feel normal. He made sure Kaden was not treated different.I haven't had a "Connor" in my life and I am not sure I have been a "Connor" to anyone else. If I could give the Sportsman of the Year award I would give it to Connor & Kaden because he deserves it.

This video is inspiring because it shows that anything is possible. Even if something is challenging, if you put your heart to it, you can do it. I have never had anyone to do me as Conner did for Cayden. If I could give a Sportsman of the Year award I would give it to the whole family because they are the biggest support system.

This story is extremely inspirational. I love the way Connor made his brother, Cayden, so happy and excited. He didn't care if he came in last place, Connor just cared about racing with his brother and having a good time. Connor definitely deserved the Sportsman of the Year award. Just as Connor said it doesn't matter what he looks like on the outside, but on the inside can teach others to feel the same way.

Connor's determination inspired me the most. The fact that he stands up for his little brother, and pushes himself to his limits and beyond. I had a Connor in my life, his name was Andrew. He was the best friend I ever had, and constantly went hungry so that I could eat. And I did the same for him when he didn't have any money. If I could give sportsman of the year, I'd give it to whoever is nicest and shows the best sportsmanship

Some adults don't grasp the concept of a "self-less act" or if they do, they just observe it from afar (figuratively speaking). It was inspirational to see extremely young children be the great example of a self-less act. Connor could have ignored his brother and pushed him off to the side. I've experienced selflessness. I was in Wal-Mart and I just wanted some candy that was near the register and was going to trade with my brother at home. He was getting some and wouldn't get the other flavor so that we could trade. The lady at the register said no worries, I got this. I didn't know what she meant by saying that, so i just kept quiet. The next thing I know she is typing in a bunch of stuff on the computer on her side. She was typing in her information to take the money out of her account... Just so I could have some candy. She probably didn't have much money, but showed grace and selflessness to a complete stranger. It was definitely something I had never experienced before, something so powerful in just a few types clicks and (non-exchanges). It had deep meaning to me even though it was probably a two dollar item. -Less is more. "self-LESS" is even greater. Experiences like that are quite changing. I one day hope to PASS IT ON and allow some other stranger to experience the same thing I had!

This video is amazing. Those kids are both inspirational. they dont even realize how many kids around the country actually look up to what Connor does for his little brother. It brings a tear to my eye. ;(

Some people don't realize how much something like Connor did can help someone in need. Being there by his brothers side pulling him along just he could be like him. All because of the smile it put on his face. I don't think his brother would see the world the same without him.

this video was very inspiring to me the family sticks together and the brother does what he loves to do and does it with his brother as a team and they have fun together. if i could give the award to someone i would give it to someone that has truly earned it.

To have a brother like that would be amazing. Connor put Cayden before himself, which for a little kid must be very hard. I have never had someone like Connor in my life, but I hope someday someone will be that nice to me. I always try to put others before me, but sometimes it's hard so I know it must have been hard for Connor to do that for his brother.

This video was very inspirational to me. Connor's determination is what inspired me the most. I have never had a Connor in my life.

The thing that inspired me the most in this video is the connection these to brothers had. Connor supported him and stood up for him and you don't find that a lot these days. I have had a "Connor" in my life, it was my family. My family is my backbone and supports me through it all. I have always been one to go out of my way to help the "underdogs". Everyone should feel apart of something, so in a way I guess I would be someones "Connor".

This video is very inspirational. Even though Cayden is in a wheel chair and is not physically able to participate in the activities his brother Connor does, Connor makes sure he never gets left out and joins in on the activities he's doing. I have never had a "Connor" in my life. I think what Connor does for Cayden is amazing because i could imagine it could get very tiring doing what he does for him, but he does it anyway.

This video was very sad but it is really inspirational and is really nice of little Conner to do for his little brother. To only be nine years of age and care so much about his little brother and defend him, Conner definitely deserved the award and evryone will notice him and what he does for Cayden. I immediatelty thought of a fello class mate who did something very similiar and was glad to see she got reconized for it even though that's not why she did it. Little Cayden will also learn from this, that he has a brother who cares and hopefuly make him feel less different. Conner and his family deserve the Sportsman of the Year award because of what Conner does and the family for supporting them both in what they do.

Kelsey Taylor said...

I think that Connor is a really good brother to his brother. More people should be like that. But I think it's sad when people joke or talk about people with problems because they can't help how they were born. And I'd give Connor the sportsman of the year reward.

The man in this video appreciates all of the money he hears dropping in front of him, but when he hears shoes and no money, he is confused. Money has become a major object in the world today. This being true, many people think that they are being selfless and giving. To a degree they are but there is more you can do besides giving money. The lady that changed the sign to a cry-worthy phrase did more for that man then any other person that passed and drop their change. When I was a young girl, I had an encounter with a selfless man. Feeling free as can be, I was riding my bike without shoes. Not being as great a rider as I thought I was, I fell off and nearly broke my foot. Lying on the ground, I felt like I was just going to lay there for forever and never make my way back home. Out of nowhere, a professional bike rider stopped and carried me all the way home. To this day I will never forget what that man did for me. He could have just ridden by and left me there, but he didn't and I was so grateful. There are still good people in this world, but the number is slowly getting lower and lower.

This video clip is one of the most inspirational stories I have ever listened too. I have had a few "Connor" like figures in my life, supporting, encouraging and being a great role model to me. I wish I could be more like Connor, hes a great kid and his parents should be proud, you dont see many kids be that, selfless and care so much for his brother. If I could give the Sportsman of the year award id give it to my best friend Mary Alice Blythe, shes my "connor" and she deserves that award, 100%.

This video makes you really think about life itself. The most motivating part in this video is connor. Connor makes me want to go out and help even more people in this world. Do I have a Connor in my life.. I might, I dont remember. I been plenty of connors to people in my life time. I volunteered at the nursing home and a children home. I think I deserve a sportsman of the year award. Not to boost my self up or anything but I have done alot in life for people.
