Who do you side with - the customer or the restaurant owner? Why? If you were a business owner, would it bother you if people came in to your business just to use your facilities? Why or why not?

I do not understand why the restaurant owner would not let the lady using the restroom. These kinds of actions would not even make me want to even go to the restaurant to eat. This shows absolutely no hospitality at all. If I was a business owner, I would not care if someone came into the restaurant and used the facilities. I do it all the time, but mainly at Burger King or Dairy Queen in Windsor.
I side with the customer because if you've gotta go then you've gotta go. I don't think that making someone pay to just use the bathroom is a very nice way of making business. If I was a business owner it really wouldn't bother me if someone came in to just use the restroom. I would offer them food and if not then its fine they just had to use the restroom.
I agree with the restaurant owner. He has bills to pay, people need to buy something if they're going to use your water and electricity. If I was a business owner I would make my bathrooms to paying customers only. I'd charge them extra if they blew it up. Maybe that's what she did. Plus there was a sign that said there is a $5 fee.
I side with the business owner to some extent, because if everyone just used the bathroom it would be bad business. On the other hand, if you gotta go you gotta go.It would bother me if people came into my business and just peed. It is bad for business.
I can understand them not wanting to somebody to use their bathroom if they weren't a customer but it was an emergency so I think they could at least let them get away with it. If that was me they wouldn't have got their money cause I would've set it off !
I would side with the restaurant owner, as the owner has to run his facilities, and people who need to use the facilities should use the facilities elsewhere. There are public places in many areas with bathrooms where people go, and most of the time, the next place along your list of stops has a restroom. Personally, if I were the business owner, I would not be bothered if people used the facilities in my business. I personally understand that people have needs and may need to use the restroom.
I can't really take either side because the customer could of looked and saw that it was a sign and asked if it was true. Did she not see it when she washed her hands? Also, it was kinda childish, if you ask me, that the owner got her licenses plate and call the cop to get her address. The owner could of typed the letter and made it professional. If she was going going to take the money that the should not of billed her in the first place. It would not bother me if somebody came into my business and use the bathroom because that could make them want to but something. Also, I do go in to a store just to pee all the time, so I would want to treat others the way that they treat me.
The restaurant owner has a good point. If you are going to use something in the restaurant you might as well buy something. You don't want random people constantly walking in or someone will commit a crime. They were making a point but didn't take her money so there was really no reason to make this big a deal about it anyway. I wouldn't mind it in my business. That does not mean I am not ok with others doing it.
I am on both side. I agree with the customer because, when you gotta go, you gotta go. But also with the owner because he did have a sign up, but then again someone should've told her before she went to the restroom. I honestly would not care if people came into my business to use the restroom.
It may sound harsh, but I have to side with the restaurant owner. Restaurants are required to make sure they have facilities for their customers. The state has made rest stops for situation's like the one explained in the video. If I was a business owner, I wouldn't want people just coming into the business to use the restroom.
I take the side of the customer because I have been in her shoes. If I were a business owner, it wouldn't bother me if people used my facility. I'd say I am an understanding person, so I would be pretty laid-back. Like the restaurant owner in this video, I wouldn't want random non-paying people to vandalize the bathrooms either. I would hope that people would have the courtesy to keep everything clean.
I think it's a bit ridiculous that the restaurant owner charged her for using the restroom, but on the business side, if you have a service and people are using it without paying, you have to take action. Besides, how hard is it to get a drink on the way out.
The customer might have been in the wrong by not paying, but the restaurant shouldn't charge people to use the restroom. It's a natural thing and to charge people to use the restroom is ridiculous. If I owned a business, it wouldn't bother me if someone came in just to use the restroom. When I was in Puerto Rico, they charged me to use the bathroom but that was because they were trying to make money off the tourists on the cruise ship. To do that in our own country is too much.
I definitely side with the customer. She did nothing wrong. Since when is having to pee, a crime? It isn't. If I were a business owner,it wouldnt bother me at all. Its goodwill and if it was me wanting to use the restroom, I'd hope they let me.
I side with the customer because it's ridiculous to pay to use the restroom. I understand that the restaurant owner wants to have a good business but I don't agree with charging people to use the restroom. If I were the restaurant owner I wouldn't charge people to use the restroom. It just doesn't make sense to me to charge for something that doesn't really matter. If that ever happened to me I wouldn't even want to return.
This is crazy. I would have never thought that business owners would even care about something like this. If someone has to use the restroom then you should just let them use the restroom. I'm pretty sure everyone has been in that situation in some point of time in life. If I was the owner then I would have just let her use the restroom.
Most people including myself have stopped somewhere just to use the restroom. The woman did not know about the $5 facility fee. In return, the woman did the right thing by going back to pay the fee. If I were a business owner, I would be offended if a customer used the restroom and left. Although I wouldn't have a facility fee, I would understand that if you have to go, you have to go.
I think its ridiculous the owner wouldn't let the lady use the restroom. I think everyone has stopped somewhere just to use the bathroom because we all have emergencies. I would be a little more understanding, but the lady did a right thing by going back to pay the fee.

I would side with the customer on this. Everyone needs to use the bathroom, how would the owner feel if she had to do her busisness and pay five dollars. I wouldnt care if people used my restroom for free.
