Do you think Congress will make changes to any of the budget cuts before this Friday, March 1st? Do you think these budget cuts are necessary? Will the budget cuts mentioned in the video help or hurt our economy in your opinion? Why? Will the possible layoffs at the shipyards in Norfolk and Newport News affect your family in any way? Do you blame the state of our economy and the possible budget cuts on President Obama? If so, why? If not, who, if anyone, do you blame? Why?

Congress will make changes to the cuts but maybe not for the better. Layoffs will only hurt what is already hurting. A budget cut to the shipyard does would not effect me directly. It would hurt the community and force people to leave. I don't blame only Obama for the problems. Even as president he's just one man and the problems started before him. Many people are responsible.
Of course congress will make changes. Congress always finds something to change about everything, and then everyone debates about it. Personally, I think budget cuts are necessary, if properly applied. But if not, then it will hurt our economy. These might affect my family. But it probably won't. I do not blame obama for this though. He came in with the economy like it is. I personally blame the previous president. He screwed up our economy, and then left it wrecked beyond repair in the hands of another man, whom he treated as a scapegoat.
Congress will probably change the budget four or five times before Friday. Whether or not it will help the middle class and lower class workers, I don't know. I'm sure the cuts mentioned will have both effects on the economy. The shipyard layoffs will not affect my family in any way. But it will affect many families around us that we know.
Congress will make changes to the budget cuts before this Friday. At Norfolk Naval Shipyard workers are getting cut to four days rather than five. My dad currently works at the Newport News Shipyard. The cuts will definitely impact affect my family. The working class is struggling because the money we make is going to welfare for the lower class.
I believe Congress will make changes to the cuts before March 1st. These budget cuts are not necessary and all the government is trying to do is make money. Even though having a budget cut it adds money to the economy, yes. But when you make these budget cuts it makes working people lose there jobs then they have no money coming in to pay for anything then are paid for unemployment which makes the government lose the money that they gain. No the layoffs will not affect my family at all. Yes, I do blame our economy on President Obama and if he's gonna be president for 4 more years. God help us because the worst is yet to come.
This is absolutely ridiculous! Taking away money from the consumers' pockets will hurt the economy even more than it already is. People are already holding on to their money as tight as they can. Just where is all the money? Many countries face debt. The U.S.'s national debt is coming up on 17 TRILLION dollars! The debt per citizen is 53,000; and the debt per taxpayer is 147,000. With these new budget cuts, the numbers will only raise. We (citizens) may only be 'numbers' to Congress and the President, but we have lives, and have responsibilities to take care of others' lives. The middle class is being diminished (with all of these cuts and necessary spending, the middle class is heading downward). There are many books on how to stimulate the economy, but when the "extra" money gets into the consumers' hand, it's up to them to spend it. Holding on to it will only further "downhill" this economy. I'm sure Congress and the President know these economic tactic. They should raise awareness to the consumers. BUT...It's hard for the consumer to go out and spend that money when they fear the loss and debt of it (especially when they get laid off and cannot afford such a risk). If the government decided to cut personal taxes it would help the economy! It would put more money into the consumers' hand which allows them to buy more goods and services, therefore, increasing demand and spurring the economy. But as I previously said, the consumer needs to let loose a nit on the reigns holding their money close to them. And the government shouldn't be prying that money away from people either. Just as Thoreau said “That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves.”

The cuts will definitely have an affect on my family.*
I think Congress will make changes to the cuts. Budget cuts would be useful if they were used properly. I think Obama is somewhat the blame for this, but he did come into presidency with the economy already like this. Many people are to blame for this not just the president.
Congress will make changes to the budget cuts before Friday. These budget cuts are not necessary because people are working hard and they are hurting. These budget cuts will definitely hurt the economy because people will not get paid as much even if they are already struggling. The possible layoffs at the shipyards in Norfolk and Newport News probably will not affect my family but there is a chance it could because my dad works at the Newport News shipyard. I do blame it on Obama because the economy is just getting worse and worse as he is president.
It's almost inevitable that Congress will make changes. I don't think these budget cuts are necessary. If there are cuts to the shipyards, my family will be affected. My step-dad is fairly new at the shipyard, so there is a higher chance that he will be affected. I do blame the economy on President Obama. Ever since he has been president, the economy had kept decreasing.
Congress will probably make the budget cuts but not in four days. It will probably take a little longer than that. These cuts are not necessary, to me, but they might be to other people. These cuts will probably hurt our economy just like everything else has in the past four years. These layoffs wont hurt my family but it may hurt my best friends family, and that is not good. Obama has to have some blame on this subject. I feel like this because he is the President so he has to have something to do with it.
Congress will probably change the budget cuts several times before Friday. I don't know exactly how much it will help or hurt the middle and lower class workers. The layoffs won't hurt my family in any way. I blame the previous president for the state of our economy. I utterly drained and destroyed our economy and put it in an extremely tough state.

I don't think congress will make budget cuts that soon. But if they do it will impact a lot of families. I personally don't blame president Barack for this more so to Bush. But Barack does have something to do with this but not everything.
I don't think the budget cuts will be in effect by Friday. I don't think the cuts are necessary. They need to think of another way to catch up the the county's debt. The budget cuts are going to cause a lot of problems. I believe that if that happens crime rates will go up.

Congress will change the budget numerous times before Friday. I'm not sure how these budgets cut will effect me personally, but it is necessary in the long run. The budget cuts will probably hurt the economy in someway, because everything in the last couple of years have hurt the economy. The possible layoffs will hurt my family, because almost every man in my family works at the shipyard. I can't blame everything on President Obama, because the leaders before him made mistakes too. It's been so long since our economy was okay for me to even try and point the finger of blame.
I don't think the budget cuts are necessary. Also don't think the cuts be in effect by Friday. They need to catch up the the county's debt. The cuts are going to cause a lot of problems.

Congress probably will make changes.I don't think they are neccesary thought. I think they will help the economy if there cutting them down for more money to use elsewhere. If they do give layoffs then that will definately hurt people. They'll loose jobs and will hurt u even more then we already are.
To me the budget cuts are unnecessary. They will only hurt our economy even worse. The possible layoffs at the shipyard will affect my family because my father works there and could possibly lose his job once more since he went to work there after the paper mill closing.I think Obama is partially to blame.
Congress will surely change the budget cuts by Friday. The budget cuts are not necessary because the state has plenty of money and is just stingy. The budget cuts will hurt the economy because families will have to make changes. The possible layoffs will affect everyone. I blame Obama he is the worst president and do not like him.
Money is so difficult to obtain and keep in today's economy. I don't blame the president for this problem, I blame congress. The president can't do anything until congress approves or declines it. So many people get mad at the president and blame him for everything that is happening, but it's not him doing it. People should vote for senates and representatives and not just vote for the president. The cut on financial aid really scares me. Budget cuts are necessary for anything to become better in America. No matter what they cut, it will hurt someone in someway. I know that it is going to hurt us here in Virginia. Gas and milk are already hurting us, so adding meat prices raising it going to become worse. I like to hope that congress will work out something for these cuts, but I don't know if there is anything they can do. I think that when elections come around for congress that America should pay more attention to them and actually vote for who they think will be the best at solving problems like the one we have right now. And it doesn’t matter if you sit on your couch complaining about what Obama has or hasn't done. It isn't going to fix the problem we have.
Of course Congress will make budget cuts. They are inevitable. There are lots of factors playing into them, but some of them we can't help. Technology is advancing which causes companies not to need as many people. There is no way around it, but I think think that we should limit the budget cuts as much as possible.
I'm sure Congress will make changes to the budget before this Friday. I don't think the cuts are necessary, and i also think that its gonna hurt our economy especially in our area. The possible layoffs at the ship yard probably won't hurt my family but It will hurt some of my friends that work there. I don't blame all of the state of our economy on Obama. I honestly don't know who to blame, but I do know it's not all of Obama's fault
These budget cuts are certainly necessary, because we simply don't have enough money coming in order to supplement the money going out. However, cutting so much of the budget from the Department of Defense is unnecessary. I understand that something has to be cut, but i feel as if everything should be cut by a little, rather than one thing taking a huge cut. My father what's considered "senior management" at norfolk naval shipyard, because of his 30 years of employment there. Their shipyard will be receiving 22 furlow days throughout the fiscal year 2013, which is a non-pay status that the personnel of the shipyard are not allowed to come to work. This may not seem like much, but it equals out to be a 20% overall pay cut.
I think congress will make some cuts but not many. You can hurt whats already been hurting. These cuts doesn't affect my family directly, but on the other hand it does. No I don't blame president Obama because, its not his fault at all. There was president before him who messed this economy up, like bush for instant. But we want to blame someone for everything its not right.
I think they will make the budget cut. It will maybe help the economy but it will hurt the people. The layoffs in the shipyard will not affect my family thank goodness. President Obama is the reason this is all happening his so called "change" is affecting us all. He is a terrible leader.
Congress has already changed the budgets plenty of times so they probably will again. I think the budget cuts are both necessary and unnecessary, It will hurt the economy st first but then it will get better. My boyfriend works at the Norfolk shipyard and it will kind of hurt him if the budget cut goes through, but wont get laid off. No, I do not blame Virginia, its the whole United States. I don't blame it all on Obama, but he has some blame.
This is a really big issue right now. First off no one cares when it’s going to start its going to happen and it’s going to affect so many people. Two people in my family will be affected by it, my aunt who is a single mother will lose about a whole month’s salary by the end of the year and my mom who will have to work sixteen hours and not get paid for it. They say they will see the money later but knowing the government they will never see it and it doesn’t help the current situation that people are already tight on budget. They say it’s going to help our economy but all its going to do is freeze it and it’s not going to go down. It's so dumb to me that they are going to cut our security and our important peoples pay like nurses, my mom, who we need when they could cut other peoples pay like me, I work at chick-fil-a it’s not like I’m out at war fighting for our freedom and they are cutting my pay. I think others should be facing the cut, the government is cutting government employees pay when they, their selves, could stand a cut or non-important jobs could. All they did was hardly touch on furloughs and talked about people at the ship yard and other states not government employees losing pay but still working their full hours. After the attack on the pentagon they think oh lets security so save money, like that's a great idea.
