Should this mother be punished for not sending her children to school? Why or why not? If so, should she be incarcerated or should she suffer a different punishment? How many unexcused days do you think a student should be able to miss from school without "the law" getting involved? Explain.

It's the child and the parents fault.
The mother shouldn't just be blamed. I know how this is because i almost failed last year by missing to many days. But at least 7 days unexcused should be allowed beofore the law comes in imo.

I think they she should be punished for not sending her kids to school because its wrong. Kids should be in school learning, and staying out of trouble. I think she should go to jail and someone should take her kids to school everyday. I think students should be allowed to miss up to 10 days, because its just enough days.

I think the mother should be incarcerated. She's a mother she should be wanting her kids in school and getting an education. I can understand if a child misses a few days because of he or she is sick or because of a emergency but for a mother to allow her children to miss 160 days that is just ridiculous. She should be in jail for the fact that she obviously doesn't care if her children get educated. In my opinion I think the minimum number of unexcused days should be 5. I feel that if a student misses an outrageous number of days then the law should definitely get involved.

I think this mother should be punished for not sending her children to school. Every child deserves an education. I think the child should only be allowed to skip 50 days before the law gets involved, or even less. I think it was the mother's fault in this case because she could have gotten up and taken her child to school.
I think she should get a warning. She shouldn't go to jail or anything. I think students should have 15 unexcused absents. The law shouldn't get involved at all.
