What did you think of this graduation speech? If you had to choose, would you want your graduation speech to be uplifting, inspirational, and motivational or straight-forward and honest? Why? Do you consider graduating high-school an "achievement?" Why or why not?

It was a good speech. I mean it wasn't inspirational or uplifting but it makes the students want to strive to aim higher. Graduating is getting harder and harder now a days. Weather it be because students care less or the work is getting harder. So yes graduation is a great achievement, but you can do better things after you graduate so don't stop at high school.

I didn't really understand this graduation speech. If I could choose, I would want my graduation speech to be uplifting and motivational. I would rather have encouragement to do well and do something with my life rather than feel like there's nothing to about life. I consider it an achievement because some people don't and its a commitment that you are sticking with for four years.
I think the speech is mean. I would want my graduation speech to be uplifting, inspirational, and motivational. Also I would like them to be honest with me. Why, because I would rather hear the truth. But normally the truth is good. Yes I consider graduating high-school an achievement. Why, because I made it through high school.

If I was in this graduation class I would have been so mad! I thought you had to get your speech read over before you can say it. If you graduate collage you are special because there are so many people that drop out. For a graduation speech I would want it to be inspirational and to compliment our achievements. For our graduation I hope we get somebody good. Wow, I’m excited only one more year. It’s going to be so exciting. I’m going to my cousin’s graduation on Thursday; her class of 900 is going to take forever.
Well sometimes the truth is better just for sake of opening eyes and such but I still think he could have been a little more motivational. I would want mine to be both because I just like to have the best of both worlds. Graduating high school is definitely an achievement because its a huge milestone in our lives.
The graduation speech was true. I would want my speech to be all of above uplifting, inspirational, motivationg,and straight forward. I would want my speech to be like that because these are the things I would like to here to help me think about it more. Yes it is an achievement to graduate from high school because you stuck to it and got out with a good education.
I like the speech because it's the brutal truth. Teenagers think after graduation life is easy but its not, it's even harder. Your freedom may increase but so does your responsibility's. I would want my graduation speech to be the truth and challenging. I do consider graduating high school a achievement. Especially these days when teenagers face so many obstacles through their high school career.
I don't know what he said to explain why he said "You are not special". I don't feel like listening to him again either. I really don't care what my graduation speech is. As long as its not about calling people out and saying who's special and who's not. I think graduating high-school is an achievement because you've been in school for 14 years straight and they should be recognized. Some people have just gotten GEDs and dropped out. But the ones that are formally graduating came far.
I thought it was different and in many ways true. I would want mine to be straight-forward & honest because a lot of people don't wanna hear a bunch of nothing. Yes I do because you have to work to graduate.
It was okay. I would want my speech to be straight forward, and true. Graduating is a good accomplishment, you can get out of high school and move forward.

I don't think I would want the kind of speech he made done at my graduation. It was in some ways mean but he was very honest. Some people may need to hear what he said because they're way too confident or have never been told the truth. I don't want my graduation speech to be long and boring. I would rather it be short and sweet and to the point but also very interesting. I also would want it to be someone that is interesting to listen to and a good speaker. I don consider graduating high-school an achievement.
I thought this graduation speech was great. I would want my speech to be both. I want to be encouraged by my speech but I would want to know the truth. I think graduation high-school is and achievement, because many children drop out of high-school everyday.

I guess the speech it was okay. This has a new twist to it. I really don't care what my graduation speech is as long as it is very good. I consider graduating high-school an achievement. You have been to school for seems like ever to some people. That day will start the beginning of a new chapter for them.
That was a good graduation speech, even though he was a bit harsh at the beginning. I would want my graduation speech to be straight forward , because I like inspiring but it is for the moment but later I just forget until something else inspiring comes around where I will never forget something honest. I think graduation is a achievement but you have way more to come in college.

I think this speech is great. If I had to choose, I would rather hear a speech that was straight-forward and honest. He’s saying that just because you’re graduating high school doesn’t make you special, what you do with it is what makes you special. I thought it was good. I would want my graduation speech to be straight-forward and honest. I would want to be told the straight truth prepare me for the world don't let me go out there thinking i'm going to get everything i want. I consider it achievement , because i've spent four years here and got through it all it's an achievement.

I think it was awesome! This speech was straight to the point. Personally I would rather it to be straight to the point, because I feel like in today's world speakers try to make the real world seem so nice and easy, but in reality it's not! You have to be willing to strive for your goals and pursue your dreams by standing out and being different. With the way things are today graduating is an achievement, only because there are so many who do drop out.
His speech was good, but a bit brutal at points. He is telling them the truth about the life after high school. A lot of people graduating don't understand that you have to work hard to become successful. I think that I would want my graduation speech to be motivational. I don't believe I would like a speech like that for my graduation speech. It's a special day! Don't ruin it with such a rude speech! I don't care if it's honest. It's MY day. Go to someone who wants an honest speech and tell it to them.
Graduating is totally an achievement! It's the end of at least twelve years of being in school! That's a really long time to be in school for.
Well ... he was being honest but , it was kind of harsh . I know for a fact that nobody expected it to happen . But for someone to tell me that im not special would make me upset . I hope nobody tells me that i'm not special on my graduation day .
I think that teacher gave the worse speech ever and I would never want my graduation speech to be like that. I would want my speech to be uplifting, inspirational and motivational because I want to be filled with joy knowing that I have completed my school year in success. I don't want to leave feeling like I have accomplished nothing. When you Graduate you are supposed to be happy that you made it out, that you are now an adult. I consider gradating high-school an achievement because after all those years of coming to school I have finally made it.
