What thoughts did this video bring to mind? Have you ever heard of teenagers trying to get high off helium? Were you aware of the dangers of helium? Would you consider it a red flag if you saw an adult at a party? Why or why not? Who or what do you think killed Ashley - peer pressure, the "adult" at the party, helium, or herself? Why?

I had only heard of people inhaling helium to make there voice weird ? They must have been pretty messed up to try inhaling that. I believe that in the end, yeah maybe other people tried to get her to do something she should not have but in the end she made that decision to do what she knows she shouldnt have.
It's pretty sad. No, I have heard of people just doing it to sound funny but not to get high. I've never really heard of anyone being harmed by helium, so no I'm not aware of the dangers it can do. I would consider it a red flag depending on how old the person is, 27 is a little old to be throwing a party for teenagers, it's a little weird to me. I think a combination of all of it had an effect on the girl.

This video brought very sad thoughts to my mind. Yes I have heard of teenagers trying to get high off of helium. Yes I was aware of the dangers of helium. I think the helium killed Ashley. The adult who supplied these items should feel wrong. She knows better and knows she was wrong. This is a very sad story. Children should learn that one night of fun can ruin your entire life.

The thoughts I get from this video is sad. yes I have heard of teens trying to get high off helium. No I was not aware of the dangers of helium.I wouldn't really consider it a red flag if I saw an adult at a party, because they could just be their watching over the children.I am really not sure what killed Ashley - honestly it could have been peer pressure, the "adult" at the party, helium, or herself.
This was sad to hear about. I've heard of people taking helium before but never to get high. When I was younger I even sucked some out of a balloon, but I just thought it made your voice squeaky. It's actually kinda scary to think about. I can see adults hanging around kids but not really being totally involved in what the kids are doing and actually trying to hang with them, its kinda sad and creepy if an adult has to do that to get friends. It might sound cruel but I blame Ashley for her own death. If she wanted to look cool and do helium that was her choice and she paid her price.

I think this is very crazy! It’s sad that this child passed away and yes helium is dangerous but most children have tried helium out of a balloon and if she was doing that and alcohol of course bad things were going to happen. I understand that there’s peer pressure but her parents say they forced her to drink and that she never has drank, her parents don’t know if that’s the truth and society now days I wouldn’t be surprised if she did try alcohol or marijuana before. Not all children are perfect angles and I think they should ask the mom what she was doing when she was 14. I think the woman should get some charges but nothing more than distributing because if all those girls planned to get together obviously they were probably planning on drinking and partying.
The thoughts of this video is sad. Yes, I've heard of teenagers trying to get high off of helium. But, the only thing I've heard of is it makes your voice sound funny. I wasn't aware of the dangers of helium. I would consider it a red flag only because a 27 year old parent shouldn't be throwing a party.
I thought this video was sad. No I havn't heard of teenagers trying to get high off of helium. But I do know that some teenagers suck helium from a bulloon so they can make there voice sound different. I really don't consider a red flag if I saw an adult at a party because I just don't think it's always a bad thing if an adult is at a party. I think peer pressure and helium killed Ashley.

I think it is horrible that this girl was pressured into both drinking and inhaling helium. I've never heard of teenages using helium to get high, but rather just as something fun to do that changes your voice for a little while. I've even inhaled helium, not to get high, but to change my voice. If an adult hosted a party for teenagers, I would definitely find it innapropriate and strange, because adults should have no business trying to socially be with teenagers in their home all alone, unless it is a close family friend. I think that both the peer pressure and the adult play a role in her death, but also the parents to an extent. They were extremely unaware of their child's life, and were not in control of what Ashley was doing.
My thought of this video was sad because an adult let them do all of that a that party. I wasn't aware helium did all of that. I don't think having a parent is a red flag, I would think that the parent was watching us and making sure we don't go over board. I really don't know what really killed her, but I think it was a little everything. Because it was the adult that let them do it, and herself because she could've said no.
First thought- the mom was so awkward! No one i know tries to get high off helium? Instead, they inhale it to make their voices sound funny. If i saw a adult at a party, i would automatically assume they are they to provide adult supervision in a safe environment. Kids and adults don't belong at parties together. I think everyone played a role in this child's death. Peer pressure from the other kids. The adult who supplied everything. Ashley, herself for making those decisions. And her own parents should take just as much responsibility. THEY did not speak to parents, THEY did not make sure she was going where she said she was. Everyone made mistakes here.
The video made me think how some parents are crazy hosting a party with and for young teens with alcohol and helium that's completely irresponsible. Not trying to get high i know people who have opened up a balloon to make their voice sound funny I mean I think everybody has done that. No not really because Iv'e been to plenty of parties with adults and everything was fine. Helium killed her but I think the adult and the friends that pushed her should be held responsible.
I thought about why would teens do something so stupid. I heard of teenagers dying from helium but I really never heard teens trying to get high from it because they should know it is not safe and is deadly. Yes I was aware of the dangers just by watching television. It depends on what the adult is there for because if the the adult was at the party to supervise and make sure the children are safe it wouldn't be. A red flag for me is when the adult is giving out drugs and alcohol to people underage.I would know that the party itself is not safe if the adult is not even trustworthy. I think peer pressure, the "adult" at the party, helium, and herself was apart of her death because even though she didn't want to do it she still had a right to say no and on top of that the adult should have known the risk of the helium and what it could do so for the adult to tell her it was safe he/she might as well just shot her in the head.
This is really sad. I've heard of teens trying to get high off of helium. I wasn't aware of the dangers of helium before I watched this. My parents are really strict and now I'm thankful for that because their trying to protect me from stuff like this happening. I don't go to partys with alcohol or drugs because I think its dumb. You don't want to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, so why set yourself up for that? Part of the responsibility of Ashley's death I think is put on the adult but the other part of it is Ashley's fault. The adult didn't shove it in her mouth and she wasn't forced to go to the party. There are consequences for our actions and unfortunately Ashley's life was ended because of some not so wise choices she made.
This video just makes me sad. I can't believe how ridiculous peer pressure is. I've never heard anyone trying to get high off of helium. If I saw an adult at a party, I would think they would be there to "look over" the kids if anything happens. I think everything killed her. The peer pressure, the adult, and the helium. She inhaled helium with peer pressure, who don't know better. The adult killed her too because she should've stopped her friends from forcing Ashley to do this. On top of that, the adult provided alcohol, which makes things worse.
It's very mind blowing because the woman who hosted the party had younger kids and were allowing all of this to happen. I haven't head of getting high off helium but when balloons are filled with helium we have sucked it in to make our voice different. I did not know that it was dangerous. I think the pressure had a lot because I feel the adult is at fault, if the party hadn't happened then the alcohol and helium wouldn't of been the case she would've stayed home or at the sleepover.
My brother and I use to do that with the same type of tank. I have never tried I don't know about others I just like talking funny. It probably is not good to have an adult partying with you so yes it is a red flag because if they get drunk they make stupid decisions. She killed herself by drinking, smoking, and doing the helium. If she was smart she would not have done those things.
I have never heard of people getting high off helium but to change their voice for fun. This video is very sad and I feel really bad for her parents. I didn't know helium was dangerous. 14 is so young to die. I wouldn't think an adult at a party as a red flag, because that doesn't mean that they are doing anything wrong. There should be adults at parties but not giving out alcohol, drugs, or anything like that to minors but they should be there watching the child to make sure they were safe. I think Ashley was killed by peer pressure, the adult, helium, and herself. Peer Pressure is something everyone experiences but that doesn't mean you have to give in. The adult was very wrong, she shouldn't have been giving and supporting what was being done. The helium was dangerous and is the cause of death. But herself also because she had to choice to say no, but she didn't. What a sad story. :(
I've never heard of anyone trying to get high off of helium, just making their voice sound weird. I didn't know that there were big dangers with helium. It would definitely be a flag if I saw a 27 year old throwing a party for a group of 14 year olds. People that are that age just don't hang out with people that are that young. Even though there were many reasons that killed her, I believe that it was herself. She didn't have to do any of the stuff that she did. -Josh Cutchins
I have never heard of teenagers trying to get high of helium. No I didn't know that helium was that dangerous. A bit of a Red Flag like if the adult isn't a mature relative then I think you should probably go home. I think all of what happend to Ashley is what killed her the "adult" , the peer pressure , and herself. The adult should have been more mature an have not even been there, the peer pressure even though they we're all pressuring her someone could have said to stop , and herself if she had better judgment she would've stopped an went home.
This is a sad video because a young girl was killed over a party and the adult at the party. I think peer pressure and the adult at the party killed Ashely. I think Ashley was just trying to fit in. I saw an adult at a party would be a red flag. Yes, I have heard of teenagers get high off helium. Some teens inhale helium to make their voice sound funny and don't know that helium is bad for them.
This is very sad. I have never heard of getting high off of helium. I have seen, I've never done it, people sucking helium out of a balloon to make your voice different. The adult is at wrong. She has younger kids. She gave kids alcohol and drugs. She should have been the responsible one. What adult would even think about doing that? Ashley was pressured into that. It's very sad to hear about a little girl that had so much in front of her, gone.
I wish i would have none you could die from it. Ive never heard of people doing it to get high. No i had no idea it could kill you. No cause they could be there to make sure things like this dont happen. I think the adult didnt mean any harm but she dosnt have the right to tell her to do it.
I was not aware how dangerous helium was. I have inhaled it before not to get high but to talk funny. I didn't even realize that you could get high off of it. I believe adults shouldn't hang out at parties, they should be the ones that are responsible but a lot of times they influence them the most. I believe its her own fault you should be able to stand up against peer pressure, don't blame your bad decisions on someone else. ZACH CAHALAN
This video really surprised me. I had never heard of anyone trying to get high off of helium. I have only heard of sucking it in from a balloon and it making your voice sound funny. I've even done it from a balloon before. I had no idea that it could kill a person.
I have never heard of people getting high off of helium. I am aware of what helium can really do. I think the adult there was responsible. The adult is in her late 20s, that's almost 30 years old. I think it was all her fault.

I thought that this video was very sad. I have never heard of teenagers trying to get high off helium. I never knew that you could die from it, all I knew was that it could make you sound funny. I would definitely consider a "red flag" if I ever saw a adult at a part participating with teens because if your child is throwing a party you should not try and join, you should be trying to make sure everything is okay and that the teens are not doing anything they should not be doing. I think the peer pressure and the "adult" killed Ashley, because she was probably under a lot of stress with her peers just saying "come on Ashley it will be okay, don't worry its not like its going to kill you or anything". With them pressuring her and the "adult" encouraging it, she probably couldn't handle it all and took to much in.
I think she killed herself. Who in the right mind would inhale helium from a tank, that's a little much. How would you even think of something like that. She wanted to do stupid stuff like that so yeah, basically she killed herself.

This video was very scary it made me think that all the people around here that do drugs could have this same affect. No I havn't heard of teens trying to get high off of helium. No I did not know anyone could die from helium all I thought it could do is make your voice sound funny. Yes if i saw an adult at a party of young teens then there is something wrong there. An adult is able to distribute alcohol and other things that teens should not be allowed to do at all that young. I think the mixture of drinking and helium killed her that night. She was pressured to do it and so she did it thinking she would be cool afterwards. She didn't know she would be dead from it!
I think it is sad that peer pressure can really hurt or even kill people . It is a very sad thought to know that helium can kill people . This could happen to anyone . You can go at any age , not just old people go . But i also think that she was foing this stuff all along . Something Bad just happened to her . but what thing of 27 year old throws a party for young children anyway , Thats kind of wierd .
