Describe your reaction to the video. Were you surprised that gamers were able to solve a molecular puzzle that baffled scientists? Why or why not? Would you consider yourself a gamer? Do you consider video games a waste of time?

I don't consider myself a gamer. I don't like video games they are a waste of time. A lot of people sit on there couch all day and play video games which is very stupid if you ask me. I do think that it is crazy that a bunch of gamers could figure out a cure for aids but the scientist couldn't.
I thought the video was kind of neat. I didn’t think it was possible for someone to make a molecular game on the computer and was able to solve it so I was very surprise. I’m not a gamer. I really don’t like to just sit around and waste my time sitting on the couch and just play a game when I could be studying or cleaning or playing with my little brother.
I'm not really surprised that gamers figured out a puzzle that professional scientist could not figure out. Gamers may be the geeks who sit on the couch a couple hours a day playing games, but they learn from them too. Yes, I am a gamer and proud of it. Video games are not a waste of time. You can learn and also have fun. They can increase your reaction time and increase brain usage. There is a motto to this story. Gamers that sit on the couch everyday are not super geeks, just people who learn something everyday from science.
It doesn't really surprise me that a gamer was able to solve a molecular puzzle that baffled scientist, because they think in different way then a normal person does. I don't consider myself as a gamer, but I see nothing wrong with gaming. If that’s what someone enjoys then that’s good for them. There are definitely worse things they could be doing. They learn to think in total different ways when they play the games that can advance them in many ways, and they can think quicker.
I was very surprised that gamers could figure out a molecular puzzle that has baffled scientists for so long. Scientists devote their lives to figuring out these things and have been working on this “puzzle” for quite some time, so it is astonishing that a group of people playing computer games could crack the mystery. I don’t consider myself a gamer, but of course know people who do. Before watching this video, I thought video games were a waste of time and unnecessary. Now, however, I believe that they are not always a waste of time if used for the right reasons, as this particular group has proven to the world.
I am a little surprised that gamers that had little knowledge of biochemistry could solve this when trained scientists who have been doing this for many years have failed. I do consider myself a gamer. I do not think that games are a waste of time because you can learn a lot from them. They can educate you and you may not know it.
I don’t consider myself a gamer. I think video games are a waste of time because you can do more then sit around the house playing games. I wasn’t surprised that the gamers were able to solve a molecular puzzle. Anybody can discover something new that baffle scientist. People discover new things everyday.
I don't consider myself a gamer. Video games to me is a waste of time and money. I'd rather be out and about doing something. It is very neat and surprising that these "gamers" could crack a code before scientist could. Hopefully, in the future it will benefit people with aids and HIV.
I think that the people who did that have no life. To play a game that has you putting together a protein. I’m sure they can find something better to do with there life. I play games like madden but I don’t consider myself a gamer. I think it’s cool that they finding a cure to aids but the doctors couldn’t.
I think it is crazy how they came up with a software that could change the structure of a protein on a computer. I'm sort of a gamer i guess. I don't sit around all day playing games but I do like to play Madden And Call of Duty. I think that relying on scientists for everything is what can dig a hole deeper than it already is. Scientist can't find a cure for aids, then a few gamers come around and, wow we found the cure.
I don’t consider my self a gamer; I think video games are a waste of time. You are not doing anything physically, and that is a problem with the world today we spend most of our time in front of a game then trying to make some out of ourselves, but it was very interesting that they could solve a that problem in 3 weeks me personally it would had took me at least month trying to solve a problem like that. The people that solved it should be awarded for finding a cure for aids and the doctor couldn’t
I thank that that is so cool that they could do that in just 10 days. No, I do not call my self a gamer. Now like parents around the world can be like play this video game. But people are coming up with this medsion and no we can see if it will really help. But don’t you thank that it is sooooo wired that gamers came up with this.

Keith Bryant: This new way of finding out how to cure things sounds incredible, but how safe is this? Like a statement stated in the video, we are using gamers that have hardly if any training in the biomedical field. So in my mind this does not seem safe, I feel that professionally trained people should monitor the proteins before they are used in any human. I do not consider myself to be a gamer, unless you call playing x-box once a year a gamer than heck yeah I am.
I was pretty suprised that these gamers were able to solve a molecular puzzle that scientists couldn't figure out. This was surprising because most people believe that scientists should be able to find thesse things out. I would not consider to be a gamer anymore because I don't play games that much anymore. I did believe that video games were a waste of time before I saw thie video.
This video just shocked me. I never expected gamers to be that Educated about something like that, and I never expected them to do it in such a short time. They completed the task faster than scientist! I’m kind of surprised that gamers did it, but not really. Because some gamers are really smart. Video games aren’t a waste of time, because so many people like them. I used to love playing video games with my big brother before he went to college, but I could never imagine playing a game like this, and being successful. Congratulations to the gamers that were, successful.
I was not surprised at all that a gamer solved a molecular puzzle that scientists could not, because some gamers think in some ways that regular people cannot. I consider myself a gamer, but I do not waste all of my time playng games. If there are some people that spend all of their time playing games, then good for them. I do not consider video games a waste of time, because if it was a waste of time, then people wouldn't make video games. This video is something that people should really watch.
