You're Fired!

Do you believe Ralph Lauren or do you think that the model was fired for being too large? Were you aware of how many magazines photo shop the models or celebrities to look much skinnier than they really are? Do you think photo shopping should be allowed? Why or why not? Guys...who do you find more attractive, skinny or curvy girls? Girls...do you think seeing all the skinny models puts more pressure on you to have the "ideal body" or could you care less what models look like?

I do not think that the model was fired for being too fat. I think that Ralph Lauren probably had another problem with her. I did not realize that magazines photo shopped most of their pictures. Personally I do not think that this should be allowed depending what they are saying about the models. In my opinion I think that curvy girls are more attractive. Really skinny girls look dead to me. Personally I think that you do not have to be extra skinny to look good and be a model. I know plenty of good looking curvy women.

Really i dont know which to believe but it is true that model industries are moving more and more into smaler models. Everybody is not meant to be the same size and or shape. Yes i knew that in the magaizines the people would shop the apperence of the models. Yes photo shopping should be allowed but to a certain extint. when it comes down to changing the way someone looks as a person all because of their size is just wrong. No to me it don't put pressure on me because i know that its not the way that they relly look.

I believe that she was fired for being too large. I was aware of how many magazines photo shop the models and celebrities to look much skinnier than they really are. Photo shopping shoudn't be allowed. You look the way you do for a reason. I really don't care what I look like, however, I like to stay fit and somewhat have the ideal body. It does probably put pressure on others if they have no self confidence.

I think that firing somebody just because they can't fit into clothes is wrong. I knew about photo shopping models way before this. I find curvy girls more attractive than skinny girls.

I believe that the model was fired for being to large. Yes, I knew about the photo shopping of models if they were not thin enough. I think photo shopping should be allowed in certain situations but no thinning the model. I really could care less about what a model looks like. Most of the time when I look at models it’s because of what their selling and not what their body look like.-Alia H.

Honestly I could care less about what models look like mainly because the majority of them are photoshoped. I think every girl has problems with self-confidence. One of the main areas this problem comes from is the "picture perfect" veiw people get from a magazine. Thankfully I have fallen in love with a man that his view of a beautiful woman is a real woman. He described me once as I was trying on a dress that I reminded him of some of the most beautiful women from the 1950's pin up models. I of course laughed at this but thankfully I think people are starting to realize that real women are not all super thin. Personally I think women who look so malnurished and thin are discusting and might break in half when the wind blows.

I believe Ralph Lauren because she isn't fat. She is a size 4! That is really small for a woman. I was not aware of how many magazines photo shop the models. No, I do not believe they should photo shop their pictures. It is plain and flat out wrong because people would think they are actually skinny. It doesn't put pressure on me because I am perfectly fine with my curvy body. I have curves and it fits me pretty well. But, it is messed up how models want to be skin and bone to fit into those size 1 or 2 clothes.

I believe Ralph Lauren because there is nothing even close to be fat on the model. In my opinion, she is actually a little too small. I wasn't aware of how many magazines photo shop the models and celebrities. When magazines do this they give readers the impression that it's normal for them to be that skinny, but it's actually unhealthy. I think seeing skinny models does put pressure on girls to have "ideal bodies" because they think that they have to look like that to fit in. It shouldn't matter how much a person weighs, we should judge them on their personality and as long as a person is happy, their weight shouldn't matter.

I believe that Ralph Lauren because that is wrong, she knows that isn't her body. That isn't how a model she be betrayed because that is not healthy. Yes I was aware that the magazine companies do that to their models and celebs. No I don't think it should be allowed ,but when you look at it there isn't nothing we can really do about it. Well as me being a model myself I don't find it pressuring because if your comfortable in your own skin then why worry about anyother girl. We were all made differently for a reason not to look alike. Being skinny is the ideal look not what alot of modeling agency want anymore skinny is out.

It is hard to predict if this model was fired for being too large. There could have been other factors which lead to this decision. It is hard to believe how some models appear. I don not believe you should starve yourself to keep a job. I do not believe that photo shopping should be allowed because people can change one image into another. I like my girls to have a little meat on them, because I don like my girl to be skinny as a toothpick.

I think that if Ralph Lauren fired the model for not being able to fit into certain clothes than it is wrong. Especially since she says she has been working with Ralph Lauren since she was fifteen. I knew that some magazines photo shop the models and celebrities but I didn't realize how many magazines actually do it. Seeing all the skinny models in magazines probably does have some effect on most girls.

I believe that the model was fired for being too large, and it just isn't fair. The model was in perfect shape, I don't understand what they call large and what they call small. I knew that a lot of the pictures of models put in magazines and such are touched up and photo shopped. I don't think that photo shopping should be allowed because that's giving them the right to change who you are as an individual. I do think that seeing so many models and young women on TV and in Cosmo puts an inaccurate image in my head of what I "need" to be. I am very happy with my weight. My primary concern is to be healthy and love who I am myself.

I believe Ralph Lauren, because I have heard many cases in which models were told that they are to fat. I was not aware of how many magazines photo shop the models or celebrities to look much skinner than they really are. In some cases I think that photo shopping should be allowed, and in some cases I think it shouldn’t. One reason why I think it shouldn’t be allowed is because people should be happy with their size and the way they. Even if they are not happy with the way they look they should work on making it better. I could care less in what models look like because they do have plus sizes models that do look great no matter how skinny of fat they are.

I don't know all of the details surrounding the firing, but it wouldn't surprise me if she was telling the truth about her being too large for clothes. I knew that a lot of magazines photo shop their models. It should be allowed, but I don't agree with it. People are always going to want to look perfect, so companies will always use things like photo shop to make their product seem more desirable. I don't really care what the models look like, I only worry about my body and how I feel about it.

I think that she probably was fired for being to large, it doesn't shock me at all. I had no clue that they photo shopped any pictures.I think photo shopping should only be allowed if the model wants his or her picture to be photo shopped, I don't think it should be done without the permission of the model. For me I'm like already small so it doesn't put a lot of pressure on me, but sometimes, i admit, I do wish I could gain more weight.

I really don't she was that larger at all.Yea I don't understand why it got to be like that towards people that is not skin.No I don't think it should be welcome in the store at all. That will be very wrong in hurt people feelings. it should be private at all times.

I think that she was actually fired for being too large. I did not know that magazines actually used photo shop for their models. I don't think that photo shopping would be allowed. It does not show the true figure of the common person. I, personally, find curvy girls much more attractive. Girls that are too skinny are just ugly to me. Girls having their curvy shapes is what makes them girls. If girls didn't have curves then they would just be like skinnier men (no offense to any skinny girls).

I believe the model was fired for being to large. I figured that everybody wasn't a perfrect size for magazine pictures, but I didn't really pay attetion to it. Photo shopping shouldn't be allowed because young girls now look at those pictures and try to look like that. I could care less what models look like because if we all of a sudden started using large people for models I wouldn't try to look like them and I don't try to look like the models of today. I actually don't like being as tall as I am and everyone tells me models are that tall and I'm like I don't care.

I kind of do think that the model is telling the truth, only because it sounds like something a company would do. I have heard so much about magazines making girls look smaller than they are, even if they're already skinny. I do not think you should be allowed to Photoshop when it comes to weight unless it's the person's choice. If they are secure with their weight and body, then leave the subject alone. Yes, I do think that seeing skinny girls with no curves all over magazine covers makes some girls do things to be skinny that aren't necessary. If a model is skinny then that's fine, but to me they shouldn't have to be paper thin to be a model.

I do think that the model was fired for being too large. Yes I was aware that the celebrities in the magazines were skinner than they really are. I do not think that photo shopping should be allowed because if you can not accept someone for their size then you need to find someone else. I could seriously care less about what the models in the magazine look like. The models in the magazine do not even look the models in the magazine.

I think that the model was fired because she no longer fitted into the thin category. Yes, I was aware that they shopped the models to make them look thinner. Which I think is not right because no one is that skinny and no one should be the people who shop the models do not even look like that. I do not think it should be allowed because it lowers self-esteem. I'm sorry but I could care less, my grandma always told me that you do want to be straight down you need some curves in your body. No offensive but I am a black girl the "ideal body" will never happen for me lol!

Yes, I believe that she was fired for being too large. Although, she is not large at all. I was aware that magazines photo shop and touch up photos, but I didn't know how much they touch it up. I believe the image of this "ideal body".The modeling and magazine industry give out is ridiculous. It crazy how us girls, are obsessive over our body image when it should be about our personality. I myself do stress about my body but I guess as long as I'm in shape its okay.

I do not think that she is to large. Do people even know the definition of large anymore? or are they just blind and stupid? Yes I am aware of that because you can tell that they distort most people in put them in there magazines when in real life that person does not fit that image at all. No I do not think that photo shopping should be allowed because it is just wrong to the person that you are trying to make "look" different. No because I do not want to be a model anyways and it does put pressure on most girls but not me because I dont want to be that skinny or to big for that matter. And yeah I really could careless about how and what models look like. I mean I care about them but I just dont care what they look like.-Cadeja Wilson

I actually believe Ralph Lauren on this one. It is so wrong and very disrespectful to tell someone they are "too large"... Wow, that's just very crazy and rude on the agency's part... Yes I knew they photo shop most of the women that perform as models. Which is kinda wrong, because you should respect someone's body! I think photo shopping should only be allowed when the model wants them too... I actually like skinny girls, but it depends how "curvy" they are. That's pretty much my opinion...

I believe that there is something in the story that we are missing. The girl who was fired was very obviously not fat, and the statement that says she was terminated for not meeting her contract is what I think really happened. I do not know the terms of her contract, but I think that if we give this story a little time, the truth will be revealed. I do not think that photo shopping should be allowed to change the size of a person because people are all made the way they were supposed to be made. I think that people should stop letting celebrities or other people pick the way they should look but instead be happy with themselves and whatever they find suitable should be fine.-Nick P0\/\/3╚╚

I think that the model was fired for being too fat. Yes, I was aware that the magazines photo shops their models and celebrities too make them skinnier. I don't care if they should do it or not but they do need too look at the image they're sending out by photo shopping because it affects the public's view on what they should look like. I don't really care what the person looks like I only date people I have emotional connections with. Besides, if I was looking for a girl I would go for one that wasn't to skinny or too fat.
